Oh, gooooood morning. I am so excited because its going to be 70 degrees today and that means I can run outside! Seeeee ya later treadmill. I’m taking tomorrow off for running.
I was up at 3:45 this morning with Kona. Mr. Kitty decided to wake him up by crawling all over his cage. I decided to take him out and let him do his business and then come back up to sleep more. I woke back up again at 6:45 and we went for a mini walk. I forgot how much work puppies are, but they’re 100% worth it.
Kona cuddled up next to me and we watched Good Morning America while I worked on some homework.
I made a delicious omelet for breakfast. I always try to make mine as good as Nick’s dad’s, but it’s never as great. It’s still REALLY GOOD, but not the same. This omelet had 1 whole egg, 3 egg whites, spinach, 1 tablespoon light cream, 1/4 tsp garlic powder, pinch of pepper, and one slice of Applegate white American cheese.
I ran again yesterday on the treadmill and then did some weights. The treadmill isn’t as bad as I thought. I used to hate it, but it’s much better than the cold.
After my workout, I had lunch and caught up on House of DVF. My salad had romaine lettuce, cottage cheese, croutons, tomato, and avocado tossed in a garlic balsamic.
I originally planned on making another salad and relaxing all night while watching Dancing With The Stars, but T.C. and Karlee wanted me to go try Pho33. It’s a Vietnamese restaurant that has the best pho in town.
I had the house ginger salad and I loved their dressing. It was sweet like a ginger vinaigrette.
Karlee and I were pho (Vietnamese soup) newbies. I ordered the chicken pho.
It was pretty good, but really filling. I don’t know if I’m a huge fan of it, but I didn’t NOT like it. I skipped out on the bubble tea 😉
After I left, I hurried up and made it back in time to watch DWTS. Did you guys see the episode last night? Which was your favorite dance? I think they were all fantastic!
Jenn says
Do you make your own garlic balsamic vinaigrette or is there a brand you really like?
Taralynn McNitt says
I usually do! But this one is from Newman’s own. It’s really good.
Ann says
I love PHO soup!! It is my all time favorite!! Especially chicken in the winter! My favorite!!
Taralynn McNitt says
I had a bite of my brother’s TOFU one and it was awesome!!
Kams says
What brand is the garlic balsamic? I’m on the lookout for something different than my usual boring dressings.
Taralynn McNitt says
Just Newman’s Own! It’s really good!
Kams says
Thank you!

Enjoy the sun for your run! I completely understand as I live in the NW and we have to so take advantage of our few sunny days this time of year. Today is going to be one of those. You do such a nice job on your blog and I enjoy reading about your adventures. I haven’t been to D.C. yet, but am even more interested since reading what you have wrote about it. That is great that you tried Pho. We have many Pho restaurants in my town and some former co-workers introduced it to me several years ago. At first I wasn’t sure about it, but the Chicken Pho and Fresh Spring Rolls with shrimp grew on me over time. I crave it now if I feel under the weather or have a cold. When they make the broth it is cooked over a day or two and is a bone broth which is said to be healhy for you. Kona is very cute! I agree that puppies are fun and a lot of work too. We always had two dogs and when one of them passed away 3 years ago, I went back and forth as whether to get another dog. Well, I never did and have just my one dog who is 7 years old and is trained well and lets me sleep in. lol. I am temped at times and look at dogs online, by so far have resisted. Have a great day!
Taralynn McNitt says
Thank you very much Linda!
I think you should definitely check D.C. out. I was NEVER interested in coming here because I thought it was all “white houses and museums” but there is so much more to this place! The beauty, the shopping, the scenery, and the eats! Everything is amazing here. I bet Pho is amazing in the winter and it definitely warmed me up last night.
I’m really sorry to hear about your dogs passing. That has to be the worst feeling in the world. Hope you get some sunny weather soon! xo

Hey, that’s not yesterday’s Express paper, you goof 😉 I read that every morning and recognized the “Best of DC” dog park info from last week! BTW, if you’re staying in Old Town, you should check out the dog park by the AMC Theater at Eisenhower.
Taralynn McNitt says
lol it was on the table and made for a really good backdrop 😉
Brit says
You take the best photos. I can’t believe it’s your first time trying PHO. We have a place in my town that everyone goes to during the winter. I love how fresh and healthy it is.
Taralynn McNitt says
Thanks Brit! I don’t know why it took me this long!
Hannah says
Kona is such a cutie. I wish I had someone like you to watch my dog when I’m out of town! I hate leaving him at the sitters.
Taralynn McNitt says
He really is the best!
Penni says
I’m really proud of your weight loss. You look fantastic and I can’t imagine the pressure that youre put under being a blogger. I know it’s not right for people to comment on the way you look, but I felt the need to let you know how amazing you are.
Taralynn McNitt says
Thank you Penni! That does mean a lot! xo

That Vietnamese food looks delish! I love a salad with ginger dressing.
I really liked Andy and Allison’s routine from Singin’ in the Rain! Bindi and Derek were awesome too. 🙂
Taralynn McNitt says
Salad and homemade ginger dress is so good! Andy and Allison are so good. So exciting that she’s pregnant AND dancing! crazy! I thought Nick Carter did fantastic and Carrie Ann was crazy for that 9!
OH AND THAT MAGIC MIKE ROUTINE?!?!?!

I just have to say, you and your blog are so inspirational! I’ve been a regular reader since 2012 and watching the way it evolves is such a treat. Keep doing what you’re doing.
Taralynn McNitt says
Thank you Jessica! I can’t believe I’ve been blogging so long and sometimes its fun to go back and see how much I’ve changed!

I think you are just an amazing person inside and out it takes a strong person to put their lives for others to see and judge . You keep many people motivated so keep doing a great job …
Taralynn McNitt says
Thank you Katelyn!! That means a lot to me.
Eleonor says
Hi! So this is kind of a reader’s request lol. I’ve been following you since 2012 and i feel like i’ve entered the “adult world” and all the growing up stuff (haha) at the same time as you (and many others). I love your honesty and would be curious to know your state of mind in some “in depth” posts regarding some important topics of your life, like college, growing up, taking responsability for your life, how do you see your life in 5 years, etc. I can imagine how vulnerable someone can feel being a “lifestyle” blogger where you expose your everyday life, and exposing your thoughts and struggles (and joys) is without a doubt even braver so i’m just sharing some thoughts :)xx
Taralynn McNitt says
Hi Eleonor!
That is a great idea for a post, maybe I can write something up like that during the New Year! Thank you for the idea. & thank you for being a reader! xo xo
Betsy says
Nice job on your running Tara!
Taralynn McNitt says
Thank you!

OJ has that name for a reason. Sorry for early wake ups. I’m not sure how to train him to sleep in. I am hoping that when the puppy phase is over, he will sleep later.
Taralynn McNitt says
Oh no!! He’s fine. He usually sleeps till five, but OJ was trying to play with him through the cage. It was pretty funny actually!
Kristin says
That omelet looks delicious!
Taralynn McNitt says
Thanks!!

I think it’s funny that you went running outside since it was 70. My favorite running temperature is 36. I do not enjoy running in the summertime! Too hot. Even when I go in the morning! :/ I live in NW Montana, by the way.
Taralynn McNitt says
You are used to the cold 🙂 After moving down South, I’m soooooo not used to it anymore and 36 is FREEEZING to me! I actually like really hot weather for running! And you are so lucky…i LOVE LOVE LOVE MONTANA! One of the best summer vacations ever.

I’m just starting out on my weight loss journey (I have about 60-70 lbs to lose). Do you recommend any tips to get started (ie: weight loss equipment, routines, must-have foods to keep cravings at bay?)
