My favorite part of the day is early in the morning, when the sun is peeking out of the sky, when most people are still tucked away in bed, and there is a freshly brewed cup of coffee in my hand with a splash of cream. This is the time of day when I feel the most calm. I haven’t touched any emails, I haven’t picked up my phone to check messages and the T.V. is still off. I like to spend an hour to reflect and collect. I think about the things that I’m grateful for, the things I can improve on, and how I’m working to make sure I reach my goals.
As soon as the cup of coffee is gone…reality begins.
When I first wake up in the morning, I’m usually starving. I don’t necessarily like to eat a large breakfast when I first wake up, so I have something little like a piece of toast, a cup of cereal, or a banana. That holds me over for several hours before I feel like having an actual breakfast.
This morning, I made a little piece of toast with butter and jelly. Before you tell me how bad butter is for me, I just wanna let you know that I’ll never be afraid of butter. All things in moderation. I picked up Energize Artizo Ancient Grains & Chia Bread at Earthfare out of curiosity. I’m tired of eating the usual wheat toast. The loaf was kind of pricey, but if you do the math, it’s fairly cheap (if you’re shopping for one.) It’s about 30 cents a slice if you eat one a day. The bread is high fiber, has protein, iron, and is filled with low glycemic whole grains. It’s also only 75 calories a slice.
I like how thick this bread is. It has little crunchy/chewy texture from the seeds that I like. It doesn’t taste like your average dry toast. The outside is crisp and the inside stays soft when you toast it. I am a new fan of this brand and will be purchasing it again. I need to try their other flavors now too.
Jelly? I have always been a fan of the Cascadian Farms. Blackberry and raspberry are my favorites. They also have AMAZING granola bars.
What is your favorite morning breakfast snack?

That bread looks amazing. And 75 calories a slice is almost unheard of. I’ll have to look for it next time I’m out and about.

Hi, I just landed on your page, and although it was not planned. I am glad I did.
I grew up in an era where milk, butter and eggs were compulsory food. One big downside of social media is making its readers believe that what they say is good for A should be good for B. It does not work that way. Believe me, I know. someone out there wants humanity to be in very poor health so that the pharmaceutical industry can thrive.
The secret to good health is – Eat anything you like to eat, anything that makes you happy, in reduced quantities if you are figure conscious. But ……. here’s the secret ……… EXERCISE 15 minutes a day. I ride my bicycle outdoors at least 5 days a week. Sometimes twice a day for about 20 minutes at a time. Yes, I love riding the bicycle. It makes me feel as if I am flying without wings.
Wishing you a healthy and happy day !

real butter is great! I used to do the margarine thing, but now I only do real butter. nothing like it!
I wake up starving too. but I have to eat an actual breakfast first thing or my eating is messed up for the rest of the day. I do eat toast or a banana if I can’t eat an actual breakfast right away. I’m an early riser too.

That looks amazing! Also, who would tell you butter is bad for you? That is so strange to me that people actually make those sorts of comments.
That coffee looks delicious!
