I woke up today feeling very crummy. I thought it would blow over, but it only got worse. I managed to get up for my doctor’s appointment, grab some coffee, and then head back home. It’s a mixture of head cold and stomach churns. I really hope this blows over fast because my brother and Karlee are coming down for the 4th, and I have a lot of cooking and party prepping to do!
I’ve spent most of the day in bed sleeping. I actually hate these kinds of days.
I tried to get some food in me. Amy’s light in sodium chunky tomato bisque, a cheese stick, and multigrain crackers. I am feeling better tonight, but still crossing my fingers for a better tomorrow.
Laying here in bed gives me time to blog about this past week, browse Pinterest, and watching Netflix.
I’ll start with Monday.
Nick and I went to The Roasting Company for lunch. It’s a cute little restaurant on Montford. I love the rustic feel of the restaurant, and the staff was very friendly and helpful.
You get A LOT of food for the price. I ordered the rotisserie chicken with rice. It came with two sides; I chose the side salad and potatoes. The dish comes with jaco sauce, but I had it on the side. It’s a sweet soy/bbq sauce.
Later that night, we golfed with Ant, Joe, & Ben. We played best ball. I took my cookies & cream quest bar since I knew we wouldn’t get done until late.
Our team ended up winning. We golfed a 33, and I had some insane drives and putts. Our team definitely had the advantage since I get to drive off the women’s box.
These boys were happy to hang out and cause trouble while we golfed.
Yesterday I did eighteen with my dad. It’s funny how one day you can golf the best you’ve ever golfed, and the next day golf as if you’ve never played before.
I did horrible.
I also spent some time painting some projects! It was beautiful out.
For dinner, I made a turkey kielbasa sweet potato stir fry with cheesy broccoli. I cooked up the turkey kielbasa in the pan with a little olive oil. After the kielbasa was cooked, I removed it from the pan, and then sautéed chunks of sweet potato, green bell pepper, white onion in the grease of the kielbasa. It grabs all the flavor and makes it so you don’t have to use any stir fry sauce. The broccoli was just steamed and mixed with organic american cheese.

I really hope you feel better – sometimes your body just needs the rest and it’s awesome you were able to do that!
I usually read your posts on my Kindle (I have them set to import via Fabreadly), but I just came on here and saw your new sidebar pic from Georgetown Cupcakes! It’s way cute!

get better soon. Everything seems a little duller on a bad day, so I hope you get over this hump and enjoy everything more!

Hope you’re feeling better today! Never fun to be sick on a holiday weekend.
Do you like any of the other Quest bar flavors? I’ve tried the cookies and cream and was going to order others online, but don’t want to order blindly and have them be gross.
