I was blessed with an 85 degree day yesterday! Do you know how amazing that felt after continuous days of 105 degrees? I decided that I was not going to waste it inside, so I headed to Lowes, and grabbed some supplies for more projects! I can’t wait to show you what I’ve been doing! I also picked some fresh vegetables from my plants to throw into my dinner!
After working in the sun and crafting, I cooled off in the pool! I finally had the guts to use my underwater camera. For some reason, I don’t trust technology underwater. I’m excited to take it to the ocean with me. Also, I’ve decided to get a Go Pro! I had fun playing around with it yesterday and planting my tripod under the water with weights.
Swimming laps in the pool with ankle and wrist weights is my favorite for a summer workout. It’s a great break from running.
I made some sweet potato chips to have by the pool! You can find the recipes here! If you make them without any seasoning, they are perfect dog treats! I made mine with a little sea salt, and caught Grumples trying to sneak a few!
Grumples was also happy for a cooler day. He’s only been allowed to go outside for minutes at a time.
I was super tired from the weekend, and decided to make dinner early. I knew I’d be falling asleep before ten. I made a basil grilled chicken pasta with the fresh tomatoes and basil from the garden.
I grilled the chicken with lemon pepper seasoning and olive oil.
The bow tie pasta was tossed in olive oil, peas, tomatoes, black pepper, garlic powder, sea salt, olive oil, onion powder, and fresh basil.
It was delicious! It’s even better cold the next day!

OMG, the 85 degrees felt WONDERFUL after the scorcher the past couple of weeks. I enjoyed not sweating the whole time. Oh well, that is the south for you. People move here for the winters, not the summers 😉

It was almost chilly!
& I agree about the summer!

Poor Grumples!! He must be so hot in those temps. I can only walk my dog for 10 minutes otherwise the heat is way too much for her. I hope the weather continues to cool down a bit for you guys!
Taralynn McNitt says
He is, so i keep him in most of the time! The weather has been pretty great this week 🙂

I like the post. I always read your blog when I’m at work. I always get excited when there is a new post. Do you have a receipe for this pasta? Knowing me I would mess it up somehow. 🙂

Gosh I’ve been thinking this for a while but I think you look SO SIMILAR to the current Miss Louisiana United States (I don’t know why I love pageants so much haha). She’s so pretty and I think she looks like a blonde version of you!

Mmm I love cold pasta leftovers in the summer, and that pasta looks delicious! Just a friendly tip: If you take the waterproof camera in the ocean or other open water, make sure you have a floating strap on it in case you drop it! My husband sadly lost a waterproof camera to the ocean last year when he forgot his strap.
