After walking around the Farmer’s Market, Karlee and I walked back to kidnap T.C. and take him out to explore.
We passed Bittersweet Cafe on the way back and I remembered a couple of you guys mentioning how good their tea was, and so I had to stop in and grab one. It was a hot hot day and tea sounded refreshing.
The little girl in front of me insisted that I try their rainbow sprinkle cupcake and so I did. She didn’t disappoint because it was tasty and the tea was great!
After we grabbed T.C., we headed Dupont to shop around and grab some lunch.
My brother’s boss mentioned going to a store called “Secondi”, it’s a high end consignment shop. It was incredible! They had real Michael Kors bags for $20! I’ll be stopping there next time I drive to D.C. I don’t think I could have shoved everything I wanted into a suitcase. If you live in D.C. I recommend going!
We walked around Dupont circle contemplating where we wanted to eat…
and all of a sudden…there was Sweet Green!
We wanted to stop in there after reading the menu in Georgetown, but never got the chance. It was like fate that there just happened to be one in Dupont!
We decided to split one of their large salad bowls.
We chose the vegetarian Hummus Tahini salad.
It had shredded kale, chopped romaine, tomatoes, red onion, cucumbers, pita chips, local feta, housemade hummus, baked falafel, cucumber tahini yogurt
It was probably one of the best salads I have ever hand. Like, I’d eat it again and again and again and probably still want more.
We got some refreshing drinks too! Grapefruit spindrift, raspberry lime spindrift, ginger kombucha and water.
I wish I couldn’t recreate this salad, but I know it would never taste as good.

After our Sweetgreen, we headed to China Town to explore.
I loved this part of D.C.
We walked around looking for a place to grab a drink so we could watch the horse race.
This part of D.C. is the place to go for Chinese food!
We stopped at RFD to get a drink and watch the race.
T.C. order the nachos for an appetizer.
We took off to walk a couple miles down to U street to find the famous Jumbo Pizza.
We passed the famous Ben’s Chili Bowl! I’m saving this spot for when my parents go up to visit.
We found it!
This kid was happy!
People usually describe it as the perfect drunk night place.
The slice is GIANT! and only $5.00! You can’t go wrong with that!
After picking up T.C.’s late night video game slice of pizza, we walked up to a small little bar and went inside because of this sign. They ALMOST got the mystery shot right. I don’t try things that say “mystery”…
We hopped on the metro and headed back to Old Town Alexandria!
Karlee and I were on a froyo mission before settling down to watch The Following.
Found it!
Don’t forget to check out the new arrivals in my shop! They’re going fast

I wonder how jumbo jumbo pizza is compared to costco’s!
Margaret @ Happy Healthy PDX says
DEFINITELY bigger, judging by the picture. I feel like Costco sizes are only slightly above average.

Random question: Have you ever been to or heard of Hello Bistro? I dicovered it in college and am in love–you can build your own salad choosing from as many toppings as you’d like at one starting price and then they chop it up for you either small, medium, or large–whatever you prefer!! (of course to add avocado or salmon among other proteins is a little bit more, but so worth it bc theyre huggee!!!(: I hope you can check it out sometime bc i think you would love it! they have vintage soda and smiley cookies too lol plussss
Taralynn McNitt says
