After our big day jumping off waterfalls, rappelling, and climbing river cliffs, we headed back to the hotel, but first, we made a quick stop at Fresh Fresh Cafe. We couldn’t get enough of that place!
Fresh Fresh Cafe is right down the road from Iguana Mama, where we met up to go on our river tour. I was still full from the delicious Dominican food that was given to us after the tour, but exhausted, so I ordered a coffee with milk. (cafe y leche) <—thank you high school Spanish.
If I weren’t too full, I would have ordered one of their delicious raw, vegan, fruit, conquis nut rolls. I love that Fresh Fresh offers “feel good” desserts.
After changing out of my muddy river clothes, I met up with AJ, for a walk on the beach. The hotel has all-inclusive drinks, so I had to take advantage of it and grab a refreshing pink pina colada.
Around six, the sunbathing crowd starts to go in to get cleaned up for dinner. The beach is usually empty at that time and I like to take advantage of it by walking.
Pro tip: If you’re staying at an all-inclusive hotel, tip first. They add more liquor and less mix. Not that I needed the alcohol, but this drink was WOAH.
We ended up walking about a mile down the beach and a mile back. An empty beach is comely and tranquil, a perfect way to wind down before dinner
The Iberostar has a Hibachi Japanese restaurant that we met up at for dinner.
You are offered sushi as a starter. I ordered the sushi roll with avocado, cucumber, and crab.
They brought out egg rolls, fried zucchini, and fried onion.
They cook all the table’s food together.
You can choose from pork, chicken, steak, shrimp, and octopus.
I chose chicken and shrimp.
The food smelled so good while he was cooking it in front of us. The smoke from the grill made it’s way up to my nose, which made me even hungrier. He usually had leftover meats and would offer it to us.
The vegetables are cooked, served, and then the meat is cooked, and served.
The meal also comes with perfectly cooked and seasoned fried rice.
Everything tasted as good as it smelled.
The shrimp was cooked last. I was so full that I had to say no to dessert! If you do stay at the Iberostar, make it a goal to go to their Japanese restaurant.

Taralynn I just wanted to say that I really admire your blog – you are so brave and so strong! I’m doing a project for my communications class now on cyberbullying and digital privacy. Since you have so much experience dealing with these problems (classily!), you would be an awesome advocate for privacy and cyberbullying reform! Have you ever thought about going into government or law work?

Pretty sure it’s cafe con leche, unless you got a coffee AND a glass of milk. Unthank your high school Spanish, girl

She still had coffee AND milk. Instead of being a jerk to people you could be nice 🙂
