I finally got my memory card back! Can you believe my memory card was in New York for a while? I’m kind of jealous. Now, I can post some more France pictures here and there.
First, I’ll post some photos from Strasbourg France and Kehl Germany. The hostel I stayed in was right next to the pedestrian bridge that leads you into Kehl Germany from Strasbourg France.
I couldn’t have been there at a better time or a prettier day. It was the peak of fall and the weather was in the mid sixties. I grabbed my jacket and headed out for a day of exploring. I first started with a walk across the pedestrian bridge.
Fun Fact** President Obama walked across the bridge in 2009.
I was amazed with the landscape. It felt like a fairytale and way too pretty to be real. The water was turquoise, the grass was vibrant green, and the trees were orange and red.
So many families were out and about together.
It was kind of neat walking from one country to another in ten minutes.
I know this is weird but I couldn’t get over how big the leaves were over there.
I spent a couple of hours walking around Kehl Germany.
The houses looked like the ones from the storybooks my mom used to read to me. I didn’t think places like this existed.
I walked back over to France to explore Strasbourg.
I rocked the curls all trip.
I decided to face the part I struggled with the most…the bus.
Fun things to see in Strasbourg:
1. Visit Eglise Protestante Saint Pierre Le Jeune-the history of the church is amazing and the cathedral is gorgeous.
2. Notre Dame Cathedral-I never got sick of the Notre Dame Cathedrals in France!
3. Visit La Petite France- It’s the cutest little village with so many markets to browse.
4. Vince’stub for Lunch- I’m sure there are other wonder places to eat in Strasbourg but I loved Vince’s stub! Make sure you order meat! (unless you’re vegetarian)
I wanted to head back to the hostel before it got dark because that’s when I seem to get lost. I also had to be up early for a train to Lyon.
It was around dinnertime and I wanted something quick. I walked over to Germany because that was the closest place to eat.
The churches were gorgeous and lit up at night.
I found a little pizza place to eat at.
I ordered salad and a “peperoni pizza”, but apparently pepperoni is something different in Germany
I ended up having a couple of slices and then giving the rest to a homeless kid lying on the church’s steps. I wasn’t going to eat the whole thing and it would have just gone to waste.
I wish I had more time to explore because Germany and Strasbourg was gorgeous.
There were so many pretty spots with water and everything was so well kept.
This was one of my favorite spots. The reflection on the pond was breathtaking.
I also love how colorful the buildings are. It reminded me of being in Mexico.
The bridge lit up at night and shined down on the water.
Pedestrians and tourists have started a lock bridge on one of the sides.
After walking back from Germany, I stopped to get some Gelato.
I chose my favorite, pistachio almond! Yum!
I finally walked back over to the hostel, made coffee, and mapped out my adventures to Lyon!

Do you make enough from blogging to travel??
Lauren says
She won this as a contest for bloggers.
Can you guys leave her alone about things. I’m not sure why people are so worried about what she eats, how much money she makes, or what she does in her free time.
This is called bullying. People kill themselves over being bullied too much.
Worry about yourself.

Probably because she has made a career out of putting those things out on the public realm on the internet. A lot of people really like the stuff she did on this trip and want to do it too. If she’s giving life advice I don’t think there’s anything wrong with asking. Maybe other bloggers can apply for the same exchange next year. It’s not bullying to ask how she funds her trips, people want to go on awesome trips too!

Are you serious? Bloggers had new readers everyday, is perfectly understandable that someone doesn’t know much about Taralynn and wants to know how she can afford to travel.
People like is you is why some don’t take bullying seriously. Asking someone to kill themselves is bullying, asking a blogger a legitimate and respectful question about a post is something normal. All successful blogs had discussions and different opinions in their posts.

Your photos are always so vibrant and beautiful! Have you thought of selling your prints (as if you aren’t busy enough)? I know I’d love to have some of these hanging on my walls….

All of your photos are amazing! I’m happy to hear you enjoyed your short trip to my homecountry. I’ve never been to Kehl yet, though and it’s very far away from where I live.

That was a little too much teeth, not enough Germany.

Do they stamp your passport when you cross over to Germany? Hehe. Love getting those stamps!
Taralynn McNitt says
They actually don’t! You just walk right over a bridge! AND BOOM YOURE IN GERMANY!

Hi, Taralynn. I came across your photos accidentally. My husband and I were in that very same spot during Christmas 2014, in late December the week between Christmas and New Years. It was very cold, snowy, wintry, and Strasbourg was like magic – a come-to-life Christmas village. Strasbourg calls itself The Capital of Christmas, and it WAS!! So I enjoyed seeing the same places in sunny beautiful weather. We took the bus over to Kehl, and came back on the rail, which fortuitously left us off around the corner from our hotel in Strasbourg. We were a little lost, but you can’t really get lost. We were surprised to see a Woolworth’s in Kehl!
We have some of the exact pictures of Kehl, except in winter, such as St Joseph’s church, and the pond with wintry reflections instead of fall color. I knew exactly where you were. Hope you are still traveling!
