After church yesterday, I went to Stacks for breakfast. Faces are starting to look familiar, people are starting to give the “I saw you the other day” smile, and the dogs are regulars too; that’s what I love about small towns. This truck is always parked right outside of Stacks. The man’s dogs sit in the back keeping everyone company while they’re waiting for tables. Sometimes, there is a motorcycle with a little side seat with a dog in it on Fridays.
My favorite part about going to Stacks is their coffee. I usually don’t go hours without having my morning coffee, but I will wait for Stacks. I push through that morning coffee headache during church to wait for the first sip of Stacks coffee. There aren’t a lot of things better than that first sip of coffee in the morning.
I know you guys are probably sick of seeing my Stacks breakfast, but it’s become a staple and routine in my life.
I should probably start ordering different foods, so I’m challenging myself to get something else next time I go! Hold me to it!
After breakfast, we walked around the town. We like to scope out the antique shops and see all the new things added each week.
How cute is the little indian elephant I bought. That is why I love antique stores!
Waxhaw has one of the best bookstores, but it doesn’t open until one on Sundays, so I walked up to the park while waiting. Of course the kid inside of me came out and I swung on the swings. Swinging releases stress. When I buy a home, I’m going to build a huge swing set in the back.
I love how the fall here stays in the 60’s. It’s perfect sweater weather, but not hot enough for shorts. Shorts and T shirts can be warn in the late afternoon when the sun is at it’s highest.
Pumpkin paradise ice cream I had at the Waxhaw creamery on Friday night!
There is nothing like a good Sunday to start off the week.

It’s nice to live in a small town like that with little shops and friendly citizens. I never thought a place as big and bold as the US would have a town like that, because I always imagine it to be crowded and serious people. I hear Newfoundland, Canada is a great province wfilled with friendky fishermen and familiar faces.
My goal is to visit a shop so often that I could step up to the counter and just say, “the usual, please” and sure that smile with the cashier.

There is an antique furniture store in Waxhaw that you may be interested in visiting! I can’t remember the name of it, but it was originally an old school (think early 1900s!) but is now used as a furniture store. I remember going as a kid and being amazed at how old and authentic the place seemed.
