Have you ever eaten at a restaurant where everything was basically perfect? I usually spot out things I would change about a place when I go there, but here…there was nothing. The service was better than the best, the food was perfection, it wasn’t too expensive, and the atmosphere was welcoming.
Cafe Monte is in South Park right next to the Whole Foods I go to. Emilee and I were so hungry and shopping on an empty stomach is never a good idea, especially not at Whole Foods, so we walked over to Cafe Monte.
Before I ordered my food, I started out with a cappuccino with skim milk. Talk about heaven in a mug! Everything about my cappuccino was perfect. It was super strong, but not too strong. It had the right amount of foam and the cinnamon sugar sprinkle gave it a little extra something-something on the top!
Ordering was difficult because everything looked good. I wanted something light since it was lunch, so I ordered the soup & salad duet.
Emilee and I plan on coming one evening to have a glass of wine.
I had to fight myself to not order another cappuccino!
I loved the quote they had above the door.
“Life is so brief that we should not glance either too far backwards or forwards…therefore study how to fix our happiness in our glass and in our plate.”
Emilee ordered the Caesar salad with chicken salad on top and I ordered the butternut squash soup with a side caesar salad.
She loved my butternut squash soup so much that she ordered a bowl for herself too.
I love that all the fall flavors are making their way into restaurants. The great thing about Cafe Monte is that everything comes fresh from the farm. None of that that prepackaged restaurant junk. You can taste the real flavor, freshness, and health in every bite.
When I first walked into the restaurant, I saw the bakery case. On the bottom shelf, they had colored macaroons. Remember when I tried my first one in Vegas and instantly became obsessed? Well, now I can’t pass them up when I see them! I still need to make my own.
This was Emilees first time trying them, so I was excited to see what she thought. We ordered the chocolate and pistachio flavors. And YUM YUM YUM! They were so so soooooo good! They are definitely in my top five favorite desserts.
Today’s lunch was a huge success and I know where I’ll be eating more often!

I definitely know what you’re talking about. I found a place like that shortly after we moved to Atlanta, unfortunately it’s on the other side of the city so we don’t get there very often.

I know what you mean about obsessing over cappuccinos! I had a really good one in Vegas and I haven’t stopped thinking about it since!
