Sometimes, it’s important to put work away, step out and explore. I’m sure some of you calm yourself by going shopping, playing a sport, or pouring a glass of wine. I, however, love to go out and explore. I love history, character, and scenery. Coffee always helps my explorations.
There is a house in a little town that I visit often. I stop at it every time I’m there. It’s creepy, intriguing, and full of beautiful character. It gives off a presence. Call me bat crazy, but I believe in spirits. And I can’t help but think this house is surrounded by one or two.
The house is on the corner with a wire fence. The top gives off a haunted vibe with it’s crosses.
The early morning sun-rays were shining through the crosses.
Cobwebs string all over the fence.
All of the furniture was left on the house.
I’ve done so much research on the town and this house. I love the idea of ghost. I do believe in them. I’ve had some weird things happen to me in the past that has lead me into the belief that spirits exist. I’m not afraid of them, just fascinated.
During the revolutionary war, several battles were held in Waxhaw. A lot of men were butchered during the Buford’s massacre and killed during others.
Some people can walk into a room surrounded by ghosts and see or feel nothing. You have to have a little or a lot of clairvoyant and clairsensitive abilities. Maybe that’s why some believe and some done. But, I don’t think you need to see anything to believe it.
I’m sure you all think I’m nuts. That’s OK 🙂
My favorite part of the house is the front window. It’s full of old books. I would LOVE to just sit and go through all of them.
Bibles and old literature made up most of the pile.
I sat in front of the house for about an hour enjoying my coffee. After that, I walked around the square.
Some people even say the bridge is haunted.
“if you stand in the middle you can feel a spirit pass through you”
If I could make a career out of visiting old towns or haunted houses, I so would!
So be honest. Do you believe in spirits/ghosts?

I actually traveled to Ireland and went ghost hunting, so I’m with you on this. 🙂 Best experience ever!

I believe in spirits and ghosts as well. I’m fascinated by the idea that our spirits can linger on and still have so many stories to tell after we’re gone 🙂 Love your photos!!

Your blog is so cute! I found it through Pinterest! I enjoyed your post! I can’t say I believe in ghosts. I do however get that haunted feeling when going through an old town, or walking through a historical site. Especially in Washington D.C., in all the old buildings, and in Gettysburg, PA, where a lot of soldiers died in the Civil War. When walking through the town, and the field, and seeing the places in the books where there was death, you can’t help but feel another airy presence there.

No I don’t, but I appreciate the history of lives lived. They live on within the living as memories, but I don’t believe they walk the earth. I’m not religious either, more scientific.
Where you live looks fantastic and really suits your eccentric mind. You’re very lucky xx

YES! Absolutely! There is nothing weird with it.
I love to visit old houses, too. You can find history everywhere.
Just walk in with an open mind and let it come.
We do have a lot of barrows around here. My best friend is totally thrilled about our Vikings. 🙂 Whenever she comes up in the north, we jump in the car and suck in all those beautiful places.
But i love it at her home, too. She lives on a hill in the woods. A little walk up that hill you get to a real creepy spot. I was fascinated when I saw it first. It´s a lawn with a lovely pavilion.
BUT… I looked at her and told her, what I think about the beauty of it …though there is a strange feeling in my stomach.
She laughed out loud and explained that this was the place where criminals were hung in the past. uuuuuaaaaaaaah
So, I believe that there is something between us…but not scary at all.
I love the pictures you took of the house. And I´m really impressed that this house is full of all the old stuff and nobody gets in to destroy everything.
And the booooooks… wow!

I believe in ghosts and spirits, because I saw or heard many times strange things. But unlike you, I’m afraid of that.

I have never felt the presence of a ghost or spirit but I do believe that they exist. I went to NOLA last year and visited a few haunted sites & was fascinated by the historical importance of those areas.

My old apartment in Syracuse was haunted. So many strange things happened and a lot of people wouldn’t stay with me. My live-in boyfriend at the time sometimes had to leave to go stay with his parents because of some “happenings.” Personally, I loved it, I felt they kept me safe!
I’m looking into a ghost tour in CLT for the fall!

I love this post! I used to live down the street from an abandoned house with a very similar vibe. I always loved the creepy thrill of visiting it when I was younger…especially this time of year!

Absolutely! Omg those books are calling my name!

I definitely do! I have had some weird past experiences/encounters that would make impossible for me not to believe they exist. I don’t think you’re crazy at all. I agree that it would be fun to explore haunted buildings and travel around doing it!

I’ve got to say that I don’t really believe in spirits/ghosts. I mean, I’m not totally closed to the idea, but I’ve never experienced any encounters, but some of my relatives have!

I love touring older houses and neighborhoods! If you love historic spaces with a “haunted vibe”, you should definitely check out Savannah, GA! Many parts of the city are said to be haunted. Also, the town has an artsy vibe that is really charming! Definitely one of my favorite cities to visit in the South! 🙂

i believe in ghosts! I would be so scared to walk by that house.

I love the photos you posted! I love old houses and I use to go and explore old abandoned houses until my sweet husband told me not to because he was afraid I was trespassing and that I might run into an old bumm! 🙂
Regarding ghosts, I believe there are ghosts because the Bible tells us that a spiritual realm does exist. It is populated by God and his angels, Satan, and his fallen angels, or demons. Despite the claims of unbelievers, there are no ghosts wandering about the earth. The spirits of deceased humans inhabit one of two places: heaven or hell.
For a believer, to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. For an unbeliever, to be absent from the body is to be in Hell completely separated from the love of Christ.

I don’t think your crazy. I believe in them as well, ever since I was a little girl I would see things. Sometimes full apparitions, sometimes waves of smoke – like lights. Or I’ll get weird feelings in certain older buildings & houses.
If you figure out a way to make a living on visiting haunted places, I’d like to do it too! Lol
