This morning, I drove all the way to Ohio to see my brother! I’ll do a blog post on the nine hour road trip in the morning, but right now I’m fast forwarding to our dinner tonight.
A friend of my brother’s recommended Pasha’s for dinner tonight in Dayton. It’s Turkish cuisine. This was my first time experiencing Turkish food!
It’s never safe to go to a restaurant when you’re super hungry with ciabatta bread as fresh as theirs! We downed this bread!
The ciabatta bread was served with Tzatziki (don’t quote me, I could be wrong) I wasn’t a huge fan of it because of how sour it was.
It was much better after dipping it into the roasted red pepper olive oil.
We all decided to order food and pass it around. We always do this when we are at restaurants together.
I ordered the grilled garlic shrimp with a salad and rice pilaf.
Tilapia with cream vegetable sauce, rice pilaf, and salad.
T.C. ordered vegetarian moussaka. It was my favorite of all the meals out of all three!
You can tell the restaurant uses a lot of natural and fresh ingredients for flavor. I wasn’t a fan of the lemon all over the salad, but it’s much healthier than my normal ranch 😉
And of course we ended the night with Froyo!

Aw, as a wife of someone who has been deployed and TDY more in the last three years than he has been home I send hugs! It will go by fast (and slow at times). <3

Hey Tara, in Chile (where I live) we usually dress all our salads with lemon juice, oil and salt: it’s part of our daily routine. For chilean people (in general) it’s actually weird using dresses like ranch on top of our veggies haha, greetings 🙂

Pasha is soooooo good! I usually get the lamb saute or the sultan’s favorite. the people there are always so nice, and the bread is tough to turn down. glad you enjoyed your visit to Dayton! thank God you didn’t go to PF Chang’s. There was a deadly shooting there last night 🙁

Hi Taralynn!
I have been a huge fan of your for a while now and love the blog posts covering such a wide topic range from exercise to restaurants to life. I don’t usually comment but I just wanted to say that Tzatziki has got to be one of my favourite dips! I am in southern ontario Canada and we have such a multicultural atmosphere that I got hooked on it from a friend. It is my go to dip fro veggies or bread/pita/cracker. It is usually plain yogurt or sour cream and cucumber 🙂 Delicious! Hope your brother comes home safe and that you are doing well
