I think I need to move to Charleston, or maybe smack dab in the middle between King Street and Folly Beach. There is something about the people, the atmosphere and the vibe that’s pulling me in.
I know everyone dreams of living on the beach at least once in their life, but no one ever goes through with it. Maybe I’ll actually do it…I am young and have nothing to lose. But for now, I’ll keep dreaming.
I know all of my posts have been backwards, and I’m sorry.
Saturday night, we ditched King Street, and headed to Folly Beach for a night out.
Samantha and Sealy brought their dogs. I left Mr. Grumples back in Charlotte. He requires a lot of attention and I wouldn’t be able to function knowing he’s back at the hotel huffing and puffing for someone to rub his belly. Goodness, that sounded pathetic.
Before we went out to dinner, we stopped to walk the beach and explore the Pier.
And of course take horrible selfies on the beach. 😉
We tried to get the beach in the background, but the camera just wanted our faces 😉
If I wasn’t in a dress, I would have schooled every single one of these fellas at sand volleyball. 😉
Tip for any of you single ladies…take your dog to the beach. Samantha’s dog was a male magnet. Way to go, Bear Bear!
Bear Bear also picked up some chicks.
Can this just be my backyard?
If you do plan on making a trip to Charleston, make sure you dedicate at least one of those nights to Folly. I like the more laid back vibe.
For dinner, we went to the Grill & Island bar. They had outside seating for their dogs and live music. Bear wasn’t too fond of the drums.
Samantha and I were pretty pumped, we had been craving seafood all week.
I wanted to order something I’ve never tried before. I’m usually the “get the same thing every time” kind of person.
I went with their tilefish. I like white fish, but don’t go too crazy over it. The tilefish was better than tilapia, cod, and snapper. I really liked it. They grilled it in a peach salsa glaze. & yes…I still used ketchup 🙁 It’s a horrible habit I need to break, but I never will. I’ll be the 90 year old lady asking for ketchup.
Thank you, sealy for these memory catching photos…
After dinner, we dropped the dogs back off and went out. The night was successful…and I’ll end it there. 🙂
I can’t believe it’s the weekend already!
What are some of your plans for Memorial day?!

Love Folly Beach also! I live in Indiana and stayed on Folly Beach a year ago for vacation. I bought the book “Folly Beach” (fiction) at a bookstore in downtown Charleston written by an author from the area – such a great book!

Hi! I just wanted to say that I love your blog and think you’re a total inspiration! I recently visited Folly Beach and ate at The Lost Dog Cafe because a friend of mine works there. They serve breakfast and lunch and I think you would love it. The food is fantastic and they have pictures of customers dogs all over the walls! Sometimes it gets a little busy but it’s totally worth it. Just thought I’d let you know because I know you love Charleston and dogs! (: Good luck in your new place! I’m glad you’re getting the opportunity to live in a city that you love so much!

We are looking to take a trip to Charleston in the Spring and stay 2-3 nights. What locations do you recommend the most? What are some nice hotels that are walking distance to shops, restaurants, etc?
