We all stayed dry for approximately 15 minutes.
It was a gorgeous day for a festival. The sun was shining and the temperature was hot hot hot! We were all sweaty, muggy, and burning up in the car on the way to the festival. As soon as everyone got their first drink, the rain started to pour. The temperature dropped and it turned into a wet fest. It may have rained on our parade, but that didn’t stop us from having a great time.
The Beer Bourbon & BBQ festival is tour festival that makes its way around the South. It’s all about “beer sippin’, bourbon tastin’, music listenin’, cigar smokin’, and barbeque eatin’.” I was so sad that Jeremy had to work because this was up his alley!
Samantha and I were volunteer DD’s.
The rain would come and go. As soon as the rain would stop, everyone would run outside and drink it up. As soon as it started to pour, everything rushed under a tent. Imagine 300 drunk people running around taking cover in the rain while trying not to spill their drinks…it was such a great people watch experience.
Samantha and I split a plate of BBQ! I had the white mac and cheese and it was just as good as you’d imagine southern macaroni and cheese to be.
The festival had tent after tent after tent. Some were vendors but most were sampling tents. When you first get to the festival they give you a glass so you can enjoy an “ALL-YOU-CARE –TO-TASTE sampling of 60+ beers and 40+ bourbons. ”
They had organic chicken sausage for sampling. It wasn’t all about the alcohol, they had great food!
Plus…the dogs were my favorite part. They had like 10 great danes prancing around.
The rain started to pour harder and harder. It didn’t really stop until late last night. We left the festival around 5 and I had containers of BBQ to bring back to Jeremy.
After napping and resting at my place, we ordered Chinese food and watching Olympus has Fallen’. I had spicy tuna rolls.
Later in the evening, Lexi, her boyfriend, Alex, Sealy, Jeremy and I played Party Trivia Pursuit. Sometimes having a game night is so much better than going out. I also got everyone hooked on mojitos! So far, I’ve had a great weekend! I’m bummed I won’t be with my mom today, but I need to give her a long Skype session and see what she is up to today! I hope you all enjoy the day with your family and friends!

Hey! Looks like you had fun! I was curious, since you move around so much, I was wondering…do you have any suggestions for meeting people and making friends in a new city? You always seem to make friends wherever you go and I was hoping you could help me out! I moved to Colorado Springs and am having a hard time finding girlfriends to hang out with.

Annette, I agree! Moving around a bit and having friends move away makes it hard to meet people. I need some suggestions on finding girlfriends too!
