I had a great run today! I am finally getting used to these hills and my heel is starting to get better. I’ve been icing it everyday and elevating it when I can. Fueling back up after a run is important! The foods you fuel it with should be clean and beneficial for the recovery process!
Here is one of my favorite post workout snacks!
All you need is…
*1 medium banana, *1 1/2 tablespoons of almond butter, *fresh blackberries, *1 wholegrain 90 calorie flatbread. If you don’t have flatbreads, use a tortilla! You can switch the fruit up too. Cherries, strawberries and raspberries all work great!
Click here to see the type of wraps I use!
Spread the almond butter evenly onto the flatbread.
Place the bananas and the blackberries towards the end of the wrap.
Roll the wrap tightly around the banana and the blackberries.
Flip the wrap over so the edges are on the bottom before cutting.
Cut the wrap into six roll ups!
I like to make these before my run and put them in the refrigerator. They are delicious cold!
Not only is this a great post or pre workout fuel, it’s a great breakfast or snack!

Yum! Love it. I can’t get enough of apples with almond butter post-workout. I wonder if they would work in this recipe?!

Hi Tara, I was wondering if you’re still working on your half marathon? When is that coming up?

Post workout favorite of mine is a giant banana chocolate protein smoothie and whole grain fiber cereal with unsweetened shredded coconut flakes to munch on. Delish!

Those look so good! I must try these. My fiance and I had the low calorie flat bread pizzas and they were perfect!! BTW I work late and am usually hungry after but so tired that I have to go to bed fairly soon after I get home. Is there something I could eat to curb my appetite, so I don’t add a ton of calories right before bed?

I have mini tortillas so I decided to make one roll up with almond butter and one with peanut butter. Also, I added strawberries in the mix. Delicious! Thanks for sharing, Taralynn.
