I am STILL anxiously waiting for my parents to arrive. They got stuck in a traffic jam in Indiana and it set them back a couple of hours. At least I got…hold on text check…woooo! They are 44 miles away! +Sorry, back to posting. At least I got everything I listed in my previous post done and I have time to do a quick post!
I baked a batch of healthy pumpkin bars with a cream cheese frosting and let me tell you…They are amazing! The best pumpkin bars I have ever had. I’m not telling my Dad they are healthy and I’ll see what he thinks! I’ll post the recipe for those bars tomorrow morning while I enjoy my coffee with my parents 🙂 Can you tell I’m excited? I also made my parents a candy corn trail mix because it’s a mixture of everything they love! I wanted to do a quick post on the mix just in case you are looking for a fall treat that is easy and inexpensive.
I bought about four bags of different kinds of trail mixes. You can buy the right amount depending on who you are serving these to. I bought Kroger’s Organic Simple Truth trail mix blends. They are really good and super cheap compared to stores like Whole Foods or Trader Joes. I also know that Walmart sells 2 lb bags of trail mix for $5.00 which is a great deal, too!
I added all the bags of trail mix to the large mixing bowl.
After mixing all the trail mix bags together, I added in two cups of candy corn.
Some of the trail mix blends were salty and some were sweet. The flavors really compliment each other!
You can add all types of ingredients to the fall mix! Some ideas? Pretzels, Chex cereal, M&M’s, white chocolate chips, coconut shavings, dried apples, dried pears, etc. As I always say…”don’t be afraid to get creative:!
I added the mix to a large flower vase. You could use a baggie or plastic container if you are taking these to a football game or other events! I think this would be an adorable tailgating treat! Or just a great addition to your table!

I can’t wait to make this for my grandsons and for ME. At 56 years old, I STILL love candycorn! When most adults find out my affection for it, they tun up their noses. I don’t care, I think they all probably secretly love it and are too proud to admit it!
This is the first time I’ve visited your blog…I love it!
