No one loves camp more than I do! I’m serious. Being able to act like a kid, dress up on theme day, sing silly songs, and spend time with adorable kids is such a gift! Our camp had theme days and lets just say I was a huge participant. I wish I had all my photos from the theme days, but here are a few I found!
These were the shorts I made for the 4th of July! The were just $4 soffe shorts with paint and sparkles added!
I spent the day (7am until 4pm) with my group of girls. I moved up ages every year to stay with my same group. You become attached! We would do all kinds of activities such as swimming, music, science, art, sports, theater, cooking, dance..etc.
Here is a picture of me on mad scientist day. I wore a white wig, and painted a white mustache on my face. I was so attractive. I even stuck hair into the white mustache. I drew stripes on my face to represent wrinkles and wore silly glasses that made my eyeballs pop out. To make it look like I had been doing experiments, I splattered flour all over me and then painted some green splats. I wore a plaid dress shirt with khaki pants and my campy shirt on top! The kids loved it!
Our camp had a rock climbing wall and it was so rewarding to watch the girls get stronger each day and eventually make it to the top by the end of the summer.
The picture on the right is from “whacky hair day.” I went with the Cindy Lu Hoo do!
Our camp was separated into two teams…red team and blue team. James and I were the generals for the blue team. Such an honor:) We loved putting together fun general costumes to lead our team on Fridays!
Walking around all day in my team costume was painful. It was rock hard from all the glue and sparkles, the sun was beating down on me, and it was scratchy, but it made the kids so happy. That alone kept me motivated to rock it.
This was my group of girls! The Bellas <3
Go Blue! Go blue!
I bet you are wondering why I’m balancing oreos on my head. Well…let me explain. I got voted counselor of the week! I had the chance to win a pool party for my girls. The only way to win was by to stacking seven oreos on my forehead and keep them there for 10 seconds. No one thought I could do it. I didn’t even think I could, but with the encouragement and cheering from the campers, I did it! I placed them on carefully and won the pool party. I felt like a hero. I know it’s silly, but those are memories I’ll never forget.
The best thing about being a counsel is getting your hair styled by the best.
If I find more photos from camp, I’ll post them!
