I’m guilty of eating when I’m not hungry. I eat when I’m bored, when I’m stressed or when I’m just craving something. This usually happens when I am studying. Popcorn is one of my favorite foods to mindlessly snack on. It has fiber, antioxidants, and it’s low calorie. Sometimes, I’ll add nuts or dark chocolate to the bowl.
Popcorn is also a great to-go snack. If you are sitting in a two hour class, pop some popcorn and put it in a little baggy for class.
Are there brands of microwave popcorn you recommend that aren’t too unhealthy?
I spend 3 weeks in residence a year for what is primarily a distance Masters and we have class 8 am to 8 pm Monday through Saturday plus homework after that. A solid night of sleep is 3 hours for us during these 3 weeks so last summer I ate most of my meals at the caf (going to try to reduce that this year or at least go for more veggies and salad with better dressing) and ate a lot of unhealthy snacks. I am not allowed to use an air popper (I do at home) and all we have in the shared kitchen is a fridge and a microwave…
Thank you!
Buy the kernels and pop it yourself the night before. So much better (and healthier only 31 calories a cup!).
