If there is one thing in life that has never let me down, it’s most definitely popcorn. Popcorn is a staple in my life, and I’m sure many can relate. It’s just one of those foods that have the power of bringing people together. When I was little, my mom used to make giant bags of popcorn to take with us to the beach, we’d always have it at the movies, and now that I’m an adult, popcorn has somehow become my go-to dinner on busy days.
You know what doesn’t go well with popcorn? Technology. The perfect thing about getting your fingers buttery is that you spend less time touching your phone screen! On Easter weekend, my family and I played a couple of board games out on the patio with some sparkling water and popcorn. Boardgames are a great way to escape from technology and spend more time engaged with your friends and family.
Before we dove into our board games, I took a couple of photos of the set up so you could see the delicious JOLLY TIME Pop Corn’s new microwave butter popcorn, Simply Popped! I have to admit to something funny. See the filled popcorn bowls in the photos? This took multiple attempts because my family (and dogs) kept sneaking handfuls of the popcorn while I was in the kitchen. I don’t blame them though because it’s really really good!
I love that people take more time to read labels and pay attention to the ingredients in the foods we eat. I go as far as looking at the ingredients in my dog’s food and treats as well. It’s a big priority for me. I love that JOLLY TIME, Simply Popped is made with just four simple ingredients: butter, sea salt, non-GMO popcorn, and oil. There is no room for unpronounceable ingredients in simple snacks like popcorn. It’s a smarter and cleaner snack choice.
Popcorn is one of those foods that you can’t just stop at one bite. I’m not a single piece of popcorn type of girl. I go in one handful at a time, and that’s the best way to do it. Sometimes, I’ll finish a bowl all by myself with no shame whatsoever. Simply Popped is great for me because it’s only 35 calories per cup, has non-GMO kernels, is gluten-free, and rich with whole grains and fiber. I don’t feel as bad about choosing it for dinner now and then. #ADULTING.
My dogs disagree on the handful method, they just go straight for the bowl.
Popcorn is great all year round! You can also get creative with it. Sometimes when I have a sweet tooth, I’ll sprinkle cinnamon on top, or chili powder when I want something spicy.
I’m sure most of you are familiar with the JOLLY TIME company. It’s been around for over 100 years, and I just loved that it is family-owned. It was the first-ever branded popcorn company, and there is a reason it’s been successful for so long. I blame it on the taste.
This popcorn was so light and fresh! It was hard to believe that it only had 35 calories a cup because it had a rich buttery taste and we couldn’t stop at one bite. My mom wanted to know where she could buy it, or what I was going to do with all the extra boxes. It’s safe to say she was also a fan.
Keeping popcorn out at parties or a game night is such a great idea. It doesn’t need to stay cold, warm, or covered. And it only takes three minutes to refill. Microwave & pour! Plus, popcorn is super inexpensive. Not to mention, you won’t have to worry about anyone’s gluten allergy. It’s a naturally gluten-free food. Remember the game night I had on Christmas Eve? Popcorn was our go-to snack!
If you love popcorn, I promise you’ll love this 35-calorie per cup, Simply Popped, popcorn! It’s delicious. If you’d like to try it out, which I highly recommend, use the store locator to see which grocery stores carry it near you!

I think popcorn would be a perfect snack staple in my pantry if I were not paleo. Otherwise I’d have tons!
Taralynn McNitt says
When did you become paleo? weren’t you keto? I can’t keep up lol

I have popcorn once a week at least (while I watch my favorite show). I make “plain old popcorn” over the stove (old-fashioned way) using coconut oil; then add my own butter & salt–delish and almost tastes like theater popcorn (without the million calories). But popcorn in any form is SUPER YUM!!! And, yes, my fur baby LOVES it, too!
Taralynn McNitt says
Sounds delicious! I love it with a good show too!
Brooklyn says
Popcorn has been my favorite snack for as long as I can remember. I haven’t had a microwave in years so I always make it on the stove top.
Love your photos!

Popcorn is just the best!
Taralynn McNitt says
P.S. I don’t know how you live without a microwave lol I take advantage of it way too much.
Brooklyn says
I have a VERY small kitchen and basically no counter space for any appliances. In the end I tell myself that while it may take more time cooking, my food does taste better being reheated on the stovetop lol.

I’m obsessed with popcorn! I eat it all the time. I bought some salt and vinegar popcorn once that changed my life. I wish I could recreate it at home. I will absolutely be trying this stuff.

We love popcorn at our house! I use it as a snack with my 3 year old if we have a late dinner, or if we eat dinner early because we are doing something and hungry. I tried giving him popcorn with M&M’s in it one time, and he picked all the candy out from the popcorn, ate that, then ate the popcorn! He was not a fan of “mix-ins” at all!
Taralynn McNitt says
Hahaha that is funny! M & Ms and popcorn is the BEST combo!
Emily L. says

Honestly I never once thought about giving my dog popcorn… but now I may have to try it out! I LOVE POPCORN! Lately I have been obsessed with Kernel Season’s Popcorn Seasoning. The white cheddar is my FAVORITE! But they have a ton of flavors Kyle may even like there buffalo wing one, my husband sure does! I sometimes even sneak it into the movies with me and put it on my popcorn. They sell them on Amazon, but you should be able to get them at Kroger.

I never liked popcorn when I was a kid, cause I couldn’t stand anything that had a tendency to get stuck in my teeth. Or when I would get one that had a hard kernal or a burnt piece.
But….
Now I love it. I don’t eat it all the time, but I always have some popcorn in the pantry and it’s perfect for snuggling on the couch with a bowl while watching a show. Jolly Time is my favorite brand too! I need to try the Simply Popped stuff!
Taralynn McNitt says
omg the burnt pieces are my favorite!!!! Am I nuts??lol
Yes, try the Simply Popped for sure!
