National Coffee Day + Giveaway Winners Announced!

Happy Friday, but most importantly, Happy National Coffee Day!

If you didn’t already know, I love coffee. I love everything about it. I’m always happy when I wake up because…coffee time! I drink it every morning, in the afternoon, and sometimes at night. I love a strong, and bold coffee with earthy tones. I love coffee in almost all forms, and trying new roasts is my favorite thing to do. And trying new coffee shops? Heaven!

Coffee is a big part of my life. If I could travel the world and try new coffees, I would. That would be a dream. When I think of coffee, I think of my travels. I think of long Fall walks with my friends, road trips with gobs of coffee cups in the cup holders, mornings cuddled up on the couch with my pups and long walks with coffee on the beach (it sounds like I’m in a relationship with coffee.) I get excited about seasonal flavors! I always have a peppermint mocha or pumpkin spice latte when I’m out holiday shopping. It’s tradition. Coffee has become a trait in almost all of my traditions.

I could go on and on about how much I love the stuff, but instead, I decided to put together some of my favorite coffee photos from the blog that I have taken over the years. Some of them are from other countries, some from different states, and some from my home. I hope you pour yourself a cup of coffee and enjoy the photos!

What a fun post! I am clearly very behind but I loved all the coffee themed photos! I’ve always wondered, what kind of camera do you use? I think giveaways are super fun and like the Christmas themed giveaway that others have mentioned. Other fun themes would be winter, staying organized, healthy eating/snacks, workout(s)/workout stuff/clothes, travel. I also like when bloggers/celebrities pick a winner for a phone call/facetime – anything personal so a lucky winner could talk with you and ask you whatever they want about your blog πŸ™‚

I got super excited to see “Hannah A.” on the list of winners!
I’ve been checking my FB more often than I care to admit today… and then I thought, “Hm, I guess maybe it’s a different Hannah A.?” Excitement may have gotten the best of me!

I think giveaways are SO much fun. They require creativity, and gift giving is a passion of mine, so I get excited when I see what other people put together!

I think Christmas is a great time for a giveaway! There are so many fun things that could be included, like warm knitted socks, cinnamon roasted nuts, Christmas-themed coffee blends (obvi.), and even a fun DIY craft project where all the pieces for, say, a cute mini wreath or string art kit or something are included! I just β™₯ Christmas, all the tradition that goes into it, and the joy of the holiday season, so that theme for a giveaway would be the top of my list!

What I love about coffee: the smell is the best! I just love walking into coffee shops and smelling the wonderful aroma! Second is the taste. I have a summer and winter favorite at the local coffee shop. If I’m making it at home, I drink straight up black coffee of some sort! My mother in law is a coffee fanatic, so it’s always a given to have a cup when I come to visit. Coffee is a wonderful thing! πŸ™‚

I love coffee because it’s my little pleasure every day, especially on a hectic day. I’m a teacher and sometimes having my coffee is that second of my day where I get my me-time. I drink it black because I love that extra kick to it. I love how it just warms my heart. But I also love how you can drink it in these really cute mugs(many that I’ve collected and been given throughout the years). I love how it can bring people together, or help you focus when you have that deadline. I love that it just goes well with any dessert, or it become a dessert if you’re really craving it, like a tiramisu or a frappucino. I also love that there really isn’t just one kind of blend. I also love the fact that coffee can also be a form of art. What can I say I love coffee!

My favorite part about coffee is that it makes me feel like everything is just right even when I’m stressed or living in a hectic moment! It’s like each sip of coffee has some kind of calming effect (even if it is a stimulant lol).

As a nursing student, I’d say coffee is pretty much my mantra! I can smell it from miles away. I was happy to hear that you started to like drinking your coffee purely black – that’s how I drink mine and I just love it! Hi Taralynn! I’m right there with you- coffee is one of my many blessings in the morning! Nothing like waking up to a nice hot cup (Or iced! My love is equal year round)
I’m always in a constant state of chaos or running around but coffee is always my sidekick through it all. You can always customize it to your mood with so many flavors and creamers or milk. It’s honestly so fun and always puts a smile on my face.
Coffee has always brought me together with friends and family for little meet ups and get togethers- even with the chaos and excitement of life everyone can “meet up for a cup.”
I love that coffee (as silly or rudementary as it may sound) has always been an excuse to take a step back and relax and refocus.
I would be LOST without it.

Coffee often means energy and fuel for the day to most, but for me it actually represents meditation, as ironic as that sounds, I drink my coffee in the morning before anyone else in my house is awake. The house is quiet and peaceful, I have time to just sit and get lost in my own thoughts, time to reflect on the day before, and time to pray and thank God for giving me another day. I enjoy that time to myself, and look forward to it every morning. β˜• #taralynncoffeegiveaway

    Hi Taralynn!
I am so glad that there are people on this earth that love coffee as much as me. I am from Dallas, TX and I keep a list on my phone of new coffee places to try not only in the city but all over the place just in case I travel and I need a good coffee spot to hit up (even a few of your go to places have made it onto the list). Recently my best friend took on a bet with someone to see who could go the longest without coffee, talk about rough for her but it was a struggle for me too because she is the person I would go on all of my coffee dates with. I love coffee because it’s not just a drink you can enjoy by yourself, it’s a social experience you can share with someone else. My parents will go on dates, eat somewhere for dinner, then go grab coffee and explore through Half Price Books. So my favorite part about drinking coffee is the connections you can make simply over sharing a cup.

I love that first smell of coffee when you open up the bag first thing in the morning. I love my morning ritual of making coffee; it’s familiar and comforting and gets me in the zone for the day. I love how coffee is something you can catch up with a friend over, no matter how long it’s been since you saw them last. I love how coffee reminds me of the cold holiday mornings where the sound of my grandma’s coffee percolating filled the warm kitchen and the smell of her cinnamon rolls perfumed the air. I love how coffee reminds me of the days where my mom would give me and my sister “coffee” in sippy cups, which was really warm milk and sugar with a dash of coffee, so that we could feel like the grown ups who were sipping coffee over plates of her homemade poppyseed pastry. Coffee is delicious, yes. But thinking about it now I realize that the best thing about it isn’t the flavor at all.

Growing up I was always more of a tea drinker: iced tea, hot tea, green tea, chai tea, etc. But now I have really fallen more in love with coffee and I have gotten better about drinking it with less sugar and cream. Drinking coffee really lets me get creative and helps me throughout the day with energy and it just tastes delicious! My current favorite is the Iced honey and milk latte from a Turkish coffee by my house!

I have loved coffee for as long as I can remember. When I was little, I had a Bugs Bunny mug that I carried everywhere. Of course I wasn’t allowed to drink real coffee at the time, but I would pretend my chocolate milk was coffee. Now, I can’t get enough coffee. I love everything about coffee! The way it tastes, the way it smells, and the way it makes you feel when you drink it. I love hot coffee in the winter and cold coffee in the summer. Give me coffee in any way, shape, or form and I will drink it! I also love how you can do so much with coffee. You can drink it black or you can do add any flavor you want. Adding milk or creamer to it also takes it to a whole other level. Call me obsessed but if it weren’t for coffee I wouldn’t be able to make it through the day… I always have a cup to wake up, a cup in the afternoon as a pick me up, and sometimes even at night when I have to stay up late for homework or a movie. It’s also great to bring friends and family together. Need to reconnect? Do so over a cup of coffee. The aroma itself is enough to perk me up. I’ve never been one to drink coffee just because I needed caffeine (it honestly doesn’t do much in the way of energizing me) but I drink coffee simply because I love the aroma and soothing taste of it. The second you smell it you get a feeling of warmth and happiness like your day can finally begin. Especially the scent of flavored coffees, there’s nothing better than driving my twenty minutes to work with the “flavor of the day” from whatever adorable local coffee shop I chose that morning, wafting around my car. Coffee mugs are the other absolute favorite thing about coffee that I just can’t dismiss. Cute mugs just make the coffee seem that much more enjoyable. It became a daily trip for coffee 4th period everyday… we started dating a month later… engaged 12 months later… married a year after that… and now we’ve been married for 7 (!) years this upcoming New Year’s Day! Been exploring new coffees I find at Marshall’s or TJ Maxx…was enlightened by your Vlog that talked about using whole beans and not pre-ground.

My favorite part about coffee is how comforting it is! There is just something about crisp fall mornings on the patio with hot coffee and leaves swirling around me as I am wrapped up in a blanket and reading a good book. That whole scenario wouldn’t be the same without coffee. Now… I feel the need to head straight home to my patio with a hot cup of coffee!

Reasons why coffee is the absolute best:
    1. The places you drink it can always be remembered by that cup of Joe.
    2. The people you drink it with make the experience, particularly for me is my sister and my mom because they are coffee feigns with me! πŸ™‚
    3. The ability it gives you to travel all over the world to try different roasts, specialty drinks, etc. which in itself allows you to experience another culture.
    4. Lastly… the CAFFEINE! Can’t imagine getting through my day without the support of anything else πŸ˜‰

I’ve been reading your blog for years, and can definitely say it’s been a positive influence on my life. Keep living your life to the fullest Taralynn, we’re all rooting for you!

My favorite thing about coffee is its magical ability to take a bad situation and make it better!
Most of the time when I’m sick, drinking coffee actually sounds like a terrible idea because I feel dehydrated and like I need water; however, when I get myself to finally drink a cup, I feel a million times better. Awful body aches disappear, I gain energy, I feel a lot less sickly, and I no longer feel incapacitated!
If I have a bad day at work or score badly on an exam in school, I take a “time out” and have that coffee. It’s seriously like miracles happen and I feel better both physically and mentally and like I can take on anything.

A cozy sweater, fall leaves, warm socks, and a hot cup of coffee in my hands? Dream. Life.

My favorite part about drinking coffee is that I have made every cup into time for myself. I usually drink 1-2 cups every morning and during that time I either read your blog or read a book or just browse the internet. It is me-time and a warm hug at the same time. πŸ™‚

As a kid, even as a young adult, I never thought I would like coffee. I’ve always enjoyed the aroma though. The smell of coffee brewing takes me home. It takes me to waking up knowing mom and dad were already up and around. Its a comforting sensation. I do like coffee now, and I’m so grateful that I’ve come to enjoy it, because now I get to make my house smell like cozy, comforting coffee. That’s my favorite part about drinking coffee- the throwback to childhood.

My favorite thing is the caffeine boost and how it boosts my alertness level yet also makes me feel all warm and cozy. It’s so comforting, even in iced form. Thanks for doing the giveaway!

I started drinking coffee when I was 12 years old and fell in love! The best part is that I started drinking it black without the added sugar πŸ˜‰ I tried to drink coffee with things added to it, but I would always go back to the black coffee. I now can appreciate coffee for what it is without anything added. The bold and darker, the better for me!! <3

My favorite part about drinking coffee is how many options there are! You can drink it black, with cream/flavored milk and sugar, lattes and other espresso drinks…so many options! Well, that and how it wakes me up every morning ?

My favorite part about about drinking coffee is the memories that go along with it. My grandmother got me started on coffee when I was little and I always felt so cool because I was allowed to have coffee when I visited her. Every time I drink coffee I think of her and how one day we will be reunited and it puts a huge smile on my face. With a cup in my hand it feels like she is still here with me!

Oh man! That’s a lot of coffee pictures!! My absolute favorite part about drinking coffee is when I’m able to just sit on my back porch, drink my coffee, enjoy the weather, watch my puppies romp, and reflect on all the things I am so very thankful for! Coffee time = quiet time for me. I love to just sit, reflect, and sip my coffee.

Such a cute idea! I love coffee and people watching – I’ll either sit at a coffee shop or on my front porch and just watch people walk by and focus on taking life a bit slower. Makes me feel warm just thinking about it!

I love drinking coffee with my husband and trying new coffee with him. We met in a local coffee shop and we’re both baristas so we both love quality coffee. Sometimes we take road trips just to try out new coffee shops. We’re going to Europe this fall and I’ve already picked out all of the coffee shops that we need to try while we’re there! My favorite part about drinking coffee is that it never gets old! There are always new ways to brew it or roast it or add to it. Coffee is fun!

This is going to sound so silly, but my favorite part of drinking coffee is when I add the creamer! I like to add the coffee first, then pour in the creamer so it makes a really cool black and white marble swirl. Before I stir it to my preferred shade of brown, I like to watch the colors mix themselves around for a bit haha, so soothing!

Also–random question–but what kind of camera do you use? I’m wanting to get a camera for Christmas and I need to give my boyfriend some guidance on what to look for πŸ˜‰ haha!

My favorite part about coffee is it can be mixed in with any part of your day, life, holiday, diet! You can make low carb coffee, low calorie coffee, holiday coffee, warm soothing coffee, mid afternoon cold pick me up coffee, high fat coffee, coconut coffee, dairy free coffee, gluten free coffee, paleo coffee, peppermint coffee, chocolate and coffee…… the possibilities are endless. (I just reminded myself of Forest Gump…You can barbecue it, boil it, broil it, bake it, saute it. Dey’s uh, shrimp-kabobs, shrimp creole, shrimp gumbo. Pan fried, deep fried, stir-fried. There’s pineapple shrimp, lemon shrimp, coconut shrimp, pepper shrimp, shrimp soup, shrimp stew, shrimp salad, shrimp and potatoes, shrimp burger, shrimp sandwich) lol!

My favorite part about drinking coffee is that it brings everyone together! People use coffee as a date, to relax, at then end of a family meal, the beginning of a holiday tradition, etc. I think it is so beautiful that you can sit with a hot mug of coffee (or cold if you prefer) and just chat and laugh with friends. Or you can sit on your porch in the crisp fall air and read your favorite book and relax! It’s an all around amazing drink! I don’t really have a favorite way…cause coffee makes everything my favorite!

Happy National Coffee Day, Taralynn! I loved this post! I am a coffee addict! I am a senior Exercise Science major in college and am planning to graduate with my degree in May 2018! I pretty much run on coffee to get me through classes, work, and studying! I love finding cute little coffee shops to study in. I find them so relaxing and feel so productive when I do my work in them! Many of the coffee shops around my college campus are locally owned so another reason I love to drink coffee is to support local businesses! They also have much better coffee compared to the more commercial coffee shops!

    I love reading your blog!

Coffee is also one my favorite parts of the day! I love waking up in the morning and making coffee, it is like getting a warm hug. I love to play around with adding different spices to my coffee grounds before I start brewing it, my favorite is adding a dash of cinnamon. I love your blog in general, but I love seeing the different kinds of coffee that you try, it inspires me to branch out and try something new.

My favourite part of drinking coffee is the relaxation I get from it. I love routine and every morning after I wake up, I sit down with a hot cup of coffee and organize my day, and it just makes me feel relaxed and excited about my day.

Pick me pick meeee! πŸ™‚ haha- my favorite part about drinking coffee is all ways you can drink it because they’re all associated with something different. Iced coffee is fun summer times, laying on the beach reading a good book. Cappacinos are my dad because he loves them and we always get them together (he’s very particular about his cappacinos!). Hot plain coffee is cozying up on a fall morning with homemade pancakes. Mocha coffee is my mom because that’s our special treat with each other! Anytime, anywhere, I’ll take a cup! Xx
