I love the Enlightened products; they’re low calorie, low fat, high fiber, and now they have a snack I can pack with me on trips. I’m heading to D.C. next month for a couple of weeks and these babies are coming with me. The Enlightened team sent these crisps over for me to try and share my thoughts with my readers. After trying these, I knew you guys would love them because they are gluten free, vegan, high fiber, high protein, and made with very little ingredients that are recognizable.
These crisps are made from broad beans (fava beans) They are known for having a good amount of health benefits such as: folate, iron, zinc, fiber, vitamins, and protein. I’ve never tried roasted broad beans before and have never heard of them being roasted. I’ve only had them in soups and stir-frys. I was trying to figure out what the texture tasted like and then I nailed it! The texture reminded me of those pretzel thins. I was surprised at how tasty they were for having very little ingredients.
The crisps come in five different flavors: sea salt, mesquite bbq, garlic & onion, wasabi, and sriracha. My favorites were the sea salt, mesquite bbq, and garlic & onion. I’m not a huge wasabi and sriracha person, but they weren’t too bad.
A look at the ingredients!
Sea Salt: Broad beans, sunflower oil, & sea salt.
Wasabi: Broad beans, sunflower oil, sea salt, & wasabi powder.
Mesquite BBQ: Broad beans, sunflower oil, sea salt, seasoning (garlic, tomato powder, onion powder, cane sugar, yeast extract, paprika extract) citric acid, natural smoke flavor, & stevia.
Garlic & Onion: Broad beans, sunflower oil, sea salt, garlic, & onion.
Sriracha: Broad beans, sunflower oil, seasoning (garlic, chili powder, onion, can sugar, yeast extract) citric acid, paprika extract, malic acid, Stevia, sea salt.

I tried these a couple of weeks ago. I agree with you about the garlic and onion being the best and the sriracha was way too spicy.

Those are considered ‘old school’ snacks in Japan! They are usually lightly salted but I have never seen them in these flavors! Interesting!
