I’ve been many places, but never anywhere as enjoyable as this. I arrived in the Dominican Republic around 3 pm on Friday night. Pruddi, one of our guides, picked me up from the airport and took me to my resort, the Casa Colonial. The boutique style hotel was breathtaking, everything coated in white, glass doors, and it had scenic views. The staff treated you like royalty, they never failed to smile, and they keep the hotel spot free.
As soon as you walk in, the doorman takes your luggage to your room, and you sit down with a hotel staff. They hand you a cold towel, offer you a beverage, and then guide you to your room.
Walking into a room this nice gives you chills. They had complimentary fresh fruit, a T.V. with English speaking channels, a giant jet tub, fluffy beds, and a comfortable sitting area.
The balcony overlooked the resort and to the right it gave you a beautiful view of the mountain.
The outdoor landscape at the hotel made you feel like you were in paradise, which you obviously are!
This was a shot I took on the way to the beach. I didn’t add any filters to this, it’s the natural sunlight shining through the flower.
This is the walkway that takes you to the beach. On the left is the other building to the hotel and on the right is the outdoor spa.
The beaches are to die for in the Dominican. They’re super clear, clean, and beautiful.
I haven’t been the Caribbean in a long time and I don’t know how I let myself go this long. I’m already planning my next trip down here.
How gorgeous is that water? You can see the bottom of your body when you’re standing in the water. That’s the kind of water I like…I hate not knowing what’s down there.
The hotel had tons of beach chairs for the guest.
I love beaches that aren’t overcrowded. There was a ton of places to sit, swim, and relax.
They had a gorgeous little restaurant close to the beach. You had indoor and outdoor seating. We had breakfast there in the morning.
This was back of the first building of the hotel. It only had fifty rooms. The hotel is so elegant and peaceful.
The rooftop pool was my favorite part. It overlooked the beach, had a bar, and hot tub. It was on top of the second building.

I’m happy you enjoyed my country. It has so much to offer & experience. A place to make lasting memories. I’m planning my trip for this summer to visit family & to stay a few days at a resort in Puerto Plata. Happy travels.

Wow, the Domican Republic looks gorgeous! I went to the Caribbean (Virgin Islands) at this same time last year and it was just what I needed to give me hope that spring/summer would be here again soon and I could stop spending all my time INDOORS! (I live in MN and winters are colder than the Carolinas though). I hope you are having the time of your life and enjoying the feel of warm sun on your skin like I wish I had now! I always enjoy your blog 🙂

I love this idea of a Fit Trip, so much so, that since I couldn’t go on a Spring Break trip this year…I used your trip for inspiration and had a “Fit Break”.
