If life was smooth and things always went according to plan, I’d be on plane right now, on my way to the Dominican Republic. Instead, I’m sitting in a snowed in-house catching up on last night’s episode of Nashville, and blogging about my birthday from a month ago. I found these photos while I was cleaning out my phone yesterday and realized I had forgot to post my birthday dinner at McCormick’s.
We went to McCormicks & Schmicks. That is one our favorite restaurants in Charlotte. For our appetizer, he ordered the blue crab dip with crisp pita chips. The dip had a perfect blend of seafood and cream. The pita chips tasted like funnel cake, I doubt they had an inch of healthiness in them, but they were tasty regardless.
My entree came with a side salad. The side salad was huge (the picture doesn’t do it justice). It had tomato, bacon, parmesan, lettuce, and light ranch. I normally get my dressing on the side, but sometimes they forget and I will never complain at a restaurant.
For my entree, I ordered the bourbon glazed salmon. The meal came with mashed potatoes and mushrooms, but I replaced it with broccoli and spinach.
He ordered the shrimp and andouille mac and cheese. How amazing does that look? It had a creamy cheese sauce, andouille sausage, shrimp, and a crisp bread finish on top.
After dinner, we walked down to the theater to go see the Illusionist. I love magic shows and this one was awesome. It was creepy, and theatrical! I loved it.

My mom lives in London, so whenever I go over there, I make sure to see many live plays- I love them! I think my favorite is Wicked but Singing in the Rain is a close 2nd.
I checked out your blog, by the way, great YouTube workout video! I sweated along with you 😉

Sorry you got snowed in. (I was one of the girls commiserating with you on Twitter last night, so I understand.) But at least, through all that, I got to discover your blog. Love it!

I love that place! I’m not sure if it was seasonal or on their regular menu, but they had the best hummus the last time I was there.
This is random and unrelated, I know you said you took these pictures with your phone, but do you typically bring your camera with you wherever you go?
ENJOY the Dominican! I’m glad they were able to fit you on a flight tomorrow!
