Guess who has internet? This girl! I never want to do that again. I never want to go more than 48 hours without internet. It sounds like something a spoiled brat would say, but I need it to survive, literally. I’ve felt disconnected and I’m just happy it’s over with! I can actually post my chicken and noodle soup recipe I’ve been talking about.
I lived off this chicken noodle soup for seven days. It costed me about $30 for the ingredients and it made about 24 servings. That’s $1.25 a serving. Tell me where I can find soup that tasty for that cheap! All You Need:
*4 lbs chicken with skin & bone (I used whole chicken) *4 large carrots, *5 celery stalks, *1 large yellow onion, *4 tablespoons better than bouillon chicken flavor, *1 tsp black pepper, *1 tsp sea salt, 2 1/2 quarts water, and *1 can cream of chicken.
Egg Noodle Ingredients: *5 cups flour, *3 egg yolks, *1 whole egg, * pinch of sea salt, * tablespoons of warm water when necessary. You could use gluten free flour if you wanted to!Boil water and chicken on high heat until water begins to boil, reduce heat and cover. Let the chicken simmer for thirty minutes.
Remove the chicken from from the bone and the skin from the chicken.Add the water from the chicken into the crock pot and add the can of cream of chicken.Turn the crock pot on high and add the chicken, seasoning, and chicken base to the crock pot.Start cutting up the vegetables!
Add the celery and carrots to the crock pot.Add chopped onion to the crockpot and cover. Taste the broth to make sure it has all the right amount of seasoning. Use your taste buds to determine if it needs more seasoning. While the soup cooks, prepare your egg noodles. In a bowl, stir all ingredients together. Roll out the dough and slice them into “noodle” shapes. Place it on a tray and let the noodles dry.
After a couple of hours, add the noodles to the soup. Continue to stir to make sure the noodles don’t clump together. Some of the noodles stuck together and so I just used my kitchen shears and cut them up.Continue to cook on medium high for a couple of hours after adding the noodles. The soup should be ready in 6-8 hours depending on how your crockpot cooks! This recipe is so easy and incredibly delicious!
This soup was incredible. I hate to brag, but I was impressed with how great it turned out! It gets better and better each day it marinates.

On the noodles it says 3 eggs, 1 egg… Is it suppose to be 4 eggs or 3 eggs and 1 egg white?! Looks delish(: ive never made homemade noodles, were they hard to make?!
Taralynn McNitt says

Wow! You know, I have always been intimidated to make my own “noodles” to the chicken and noodle soup but you make it look not so bad! Plus the whole recipe in general uses wholesome, healthy ingredients so I’m on board. Thanks, girl!

This is fantastic. I’ve been inspired by your strength, drive, and love for life since I found you on Tumblr. Also, you made me put the Carolinas on my list to visit 🙂
I hate that I’m placed in the ‘skinny’ category and it became synonymous with healthy. Its annoying when people laugh saying i have no need for the gym (since when did muscle become a crime? lol). Instead of ‘skinny’ we should all aspire to be happy, healthy, and strong (in every way)
Every girl has that stupid voice trying to destroy her and I’m glad you finally told it to shut up and prove that you are fierce
xo love ya Tara
ps wouldnt load onto your recent post so I’m here testing your site sorry love 🙂
Linda @ The Fitty says
Did you discard the skin and bones? Ah no, give them to me!! 🙂
Taralynn McNitt says
I did, but you can make more broth if you add more water and continue to boil them.

Look into bone broth and the benefits of using the bones at a later time to make a stock! It’s insane how much benefits there are to it!
