I drink coffee all day long and I never get sick of it, but I do get sick of the brands, the creamers, and the flavor of coffee. I get hooked on a brand of coffee for a couple of weeks and then I have to switch. Last week it was 8 o’clock medium original roast but this week it’s McCafe’s columbian medium-dark roast. Made with 100% Arabica beans.
I’m one of those coffee snobs that cannot tolerate coffee out of Styrofoam, from fast food places, and especially not gas station, but I’ve been doing pretty well lately and slowly giving up my stuck up ways. I’ve learned to like Dunkin D’s coffee and I actually love McDonald’s coffee. I’ve liked their coffee for years. Whenever I’m on road trips, I stop at McDonalds for coffee. I am so happy they sell their coffee now and they it’s so much cheaper than my normal brands. I used to do flavored creamers or almond milk for my coffee but It got old and now I’m on a light cream kick. I’ll let you know how long that lasts.

I can’t do caffeine, unfortunately due to adrenal issues, so I try to opt for non caffienated tea. Any suggestions?

I know most health food stores sell a “coffee” called Dandelion Blend. There’s no caffeine and no coffee beans at all, but it is supposed to resemble the coffee flavor! I tried it a few times and although I taste a difference… It’s pretty good as a substitute!!

Hi Taralynn! I’m a big fan of your blog and also crazy about coffee (but just can’t drink it black). Do you prefer light cream over half and half? Also, what’s “better for you” health-wise? Just curious if you had an opinion on the two. 🙂

I stick to a brand for around a year and then switch. I have recently discovered 8 OClock’s French Roast and it is SOOOOO good!
I have been wondering about the McCafe bags being sold.
I, unfortunately, cannot give up International Delight creamers 🙁

Did Mcdonalds sponsor you with this coffee? I didn’t know they sold the beans!
Taralynn McNitt says

You should try drinking black cinnamon coffee. When you put the grinds in the basket to brew it sprinkle a little or a lot of cinnamon over the grounds. It brews it straight into the coffee. It’s my snowy weather coffee goto.
Taralynn McNitt says
I’ve heard of doing that!

I’ve always loved McDonalds coffee too!

You should try Dutch coffee called DE (Douwe Egberts) coffee. I don’t know if you can purchase it in the US, or maybe order it online? It is the best. 🙂 Dutch know how to make coffee ;).

Oh oh oh, if there is a Trader Joe’s near you, I LOVE their Bali Blue coffee. It’s sold as whole beans in the can, but TJ’s has grinders right in the store so you can grind the whole can to your liking (for espresso, drip maker, etc.)

I discovered this for my Keurig a month or so ago and I love it I have been drinking it ever since. I am also coffee obsessed.

My local grocer just started selling Intelligentsia coffee. Oh you know they’re turning snobby now lol. Caffe Ibis is normally my favorite brand. I stick with the organic and fair trade kind. Coffee growing can be a corrupt business. Guess I’m a coffee snob haha! Although I did just buy a brownie flavored coffee that was neither organic nor fair trade because I just couldn’t resist.

Yes! I too love me some coffee. I use the fat free half n half and splenda. Because I have a Kureig one cup maker and am so spoiled I bought the Starbucks cup at Costco for about 6 mo. Then I tried the Kirkland Pacific Bold not bad. Your get twice as many for about $20. Great buy.

Hi Taralynn,
I’ve been buying the Irene’s biscotti for years now and am really hooked on them. They are also making me broke. Whole Foods and Moms have recently discontinued them because the company is so difficult to deal with and their quality control is poor. If you can make a 20 calorie biscotti I would be a great fan and buyer.
Please let me know if you can do this. My email is maggie@maggiebakerphd and my phone is 610-896-9651.
I look forward to your reply.
Regards,
Maggie Baker
