I met up for lunch with Nick again yesterday and we decided to go to Crisp to get a fresh salads. Ive had a lot of Charlotte readers tell me about this place and I’ve been wanting to try it out! Finally I had the chance to:)
Crips reminds me of my favorite place to eat in Detroit, Salad Creations. You go to the counter and build your own salad. You can choose from theirs, but it’s much more fun to build your own. They also have sandwiches, soups, and the usual cafe style foods.
My salad had tomatoes, chickpeas, dried cranberries, cucumbers, romaine, and marinated grilled chicken. I had ranch on the side for my dressing.
After lunch, Grumples and I went on a five-mile walk around the neighborhoods. The homes in Charlotte are adorable and have so much character. It makes the walks more enjoyable when you have quaint things to look at.

Yum, nothing like a fresh salad for a meal. I don’t have salads anymore because I can’t keep them fresh enough in my lunch bag to take to class. If only I had a kitchen I could use at school…

Looks like a great day! I love looking at your blog for new and creative salad ideas. I still use your advice (I read it on your blog forever ago) about dipping your fork in the dressing when eating a salad. I am always amazed at how much less dressing I use because of that!

Wow! That is a great idea! I never saw that post. I will have to try that!
I use so much ranch, it’s ridiculous. The only time I don’t feel guilty about it is when I make my own, because its healthy and low cal, but when out at restaurants, the dressings are so fattening.

That sounds like a perfect salad.
I wish there was somewhere really close to my house that could be a nice, quaint walk. Most of the cute neighborhoods are not in walking distance. We live close to the highway and businesses.
I’ve been craving a long walk, but it has been in the teens and single digits the past few days :/
