One of our assignments for the BBE is to dare our exchange partners to do something while they’re in our countries. After thinking about some of the things my friends and I do here in the states, I did a little research to see if they do it in France, too. This is what I’ve come up with for my Dare to Lucie.
DARE NUMBER ONE: TAILGATING
Tailgating in the fall is one of my favorite things to do. Us Americans take our football very seriously. Game day means dressing up in your team colors, parking outside the stadium, eating tailgate food, and play tailgate games. I would love to connect you with people so that you can attend a tailgate while you’re here in the states. If you can’t tailgate, try to go to a bar or pub to watch a football game.
DARE NUMBER TWO: PEANUT BUTTER AND OREOS.
I saw that Oreos and peanut butter are rare in France and pretty expensive too. One of our favorite things to do here is dip our Oreos in peanut butter. Chasing it down with a glass of milk is a plus. I’ve been obsessed with this combination since watching Parent Trap. I’m sure many can relate! After trying this, you’ll want to toss out your clothes and pack your suitcase with peanut butter and Oreos!
DARE NUMBER THREE: CELEBRATE HALLOWEEN.
I love Halloween; It’s my number two holiday, Christmas being my number one. I know it’s celebrated in France, but not the same way in the states. You should do something for Halloween. Dress up, go trick or treating (in a safe neighborhood because you’re never too old for it), try candy corn, carve a pumpkin, or go to a scary movie. And don’t forget to listen to the Monster Mash!

I dare you to try cheese with jam on a biscuit? I think that’s a weird combo but some people dig it.
Lucie A. says
Cheese and jam rocks! On a biscuit??? 🙂
Shannon says
Try mint oreos with Peanut Butter. They’re amazing!
I’d also dare Lucie to go apple picking, go to a Haunted House/ Haunted Forest/ Haunted Hayride. She should also go horseback riding through the forest or on the beach.
Lucie A. says
Sounds like cool suggestons! Wich forest? Which beach? 🙂

I dare Lucie try any and EVERYTHING pumpkin and try not to become pumpkin crazed just like the rest of us!!!
Lucie A. says
Yay pumpkin!

Peanut Butter and Oreos sounds like an amazing (and dangerous) idea!
I think Football/tailgating is an excellent dare – a very “american” event for her to experience.

Thank you for all these amazing dares! Gonna be busy! Would love to go tailgating with some of your friends! It seems I will have more time in Austin, do you think that would be possible?
With my sweet tooth, cannot wait to try the Oreos:)
And a scary movie is a good idea too!
Lucie A. says
Oh and I am gonna have to send you some extra dares!

Lucie A. says
Merci pour ce conseil! Sweet tea, ça doit être délicieux et rafraîchissant!
