Two Yays!
Yay ONE for College Football Saturday, and Yay TWO for being healthy.
I was sick all last week. I’ve never been sick that long before, and it honestly sucked. Yesterday, I went in for more testing and everything seemed to be getting better. That’s what I wanted to hear. I am honestly feeling better, but will continue to take it easy and relax.
After my doctor’s appointment yesterday morning, Emilee and I went to Toast for breakfast.
I honestly felt like I was cheating on Stacks (my normal breakfast spot)
I have had a lot of readers from Charlotte, and Charlotte friends, tell me to go to Toast for breakfast. I didn’t realize how close it was to me.
Toast is double the price of Stacks, so I was thinking it was going to be really good, but it was just OK. I didn’t fall in love with the Atmosphere either.
I’m only allowed to have one cup of coffee a day for a while, so I was hoping this would be delicious…but neh. It tasted a little burnt.
Emilee ordered an apple cinnamon pancake with cold chewy bacon.
I ordered the bowl of fruit, two eggs any style, toast, and hash browns.
I love fresh fruit in the morning, especially with honey! Have you ever eaten something that reminds you of being somewhere or brings back memories? For example, when you eat turkey, you think of Thanksgiving. When you eat candy corn, you think of Halloween. When I eat fruit with honey, I think of my Vegas trips and it puts me in a good mood. I always crave fruit and honey when I’m in Vegas.
Toast really does live up to their name “TOAST”, because their toast was awesome. If I ever go back, I’ll probably order just toast.
The potatoes were seasoned well, but a little cold and soggy. The eggs tasted like eggs, but I would have cooked them a tad longer because the egg whites were still slimy.
I know this seems like a crummy review, but I kind of regretted going. I missed the friendly service and atmosphere at my breakfast spot. Plus, the Iowa Hawkeyes are losing, so I’m taking it out on my blog post. But, sometimes restaurants (just like people) have bad days, so I’ll probably give this place another shot in the future.

I saw this on your instagram this morning and I got out of bed real fast to make myself the exact breakfast!

Try the Harvest Moon Grill in downtown lincolnton. It’s a little drive for you, but everything is made from local farms and super delish! They also do family style dinner on Tuesday so worth it for breakfast.

Your Hawkeyes beat my Boilers, so I hope it perked you up a little bit. 🙂
