Hey, guys! (HAPPY FOOTBALL SATURDAY)
I’ve been slacken’ real hard on blog posts, but on the plus side, I’ve been enjoying life. I’ve been going here, there, doing this, and doing that. Staying in Charlotte has been one of the smartest moves I’ve made. It hasn’t helped me update my blog as much, but I’ll for sure improve on that. I’m even buying a new desk to help me focus on priorities. (instead of working from the couch)
Anyways, I have a couple minutes to fit in a quick update post to tell you all what I’ve been up to and what you can expect on the blog!
KOMBUCHA
I’ve been addicted to kombucha lately, especially the flavors with ginger. I had never heard of it until moving down South. Kombucha has tons of organic enzymes, amino acids, vitamins, and probiotics. It’s really good for the digestive system.
(now jumping to Wednesday)
Emilee and I walked about seven miles to meet Samantha and Sealy for dinner at Ghengis grill. After dinner, we headed to the grocery store and then went back to the apartment and made homemade blueberry muffins.
Thursday night my friend, Nick, made me dinner. He made homemade grilled turkey burgers, salad with homemade balsamic, and carrot fries. I was honestly impressed.
Friday morning I woke up early and headed to breakfast with Emilee. Of course, we went to Stacks. It’s one of those comfort places.
After Stacks, we walked around the town and then went to Crossroads coffee for iced coffee.
After we left Waxhaw, we headed 40 miles to spend several hours at IKEA. I hate that place on the weekends because there are so many people. During the weekdays is the best time to go! I bought new pillows, curtains, and a rug. I was so proud of myself for hanging the curtain rod by myself. I know orange seems like a weird color, but I love the charcoal and orange color scheme.
After resting up for an hour, I headed to FM for a high school football game with some friends. I love football season and never pass up the opportunity to go to a football game. High school games, college, elementary, middle school, or a game in the park…I’m in.
I can’t wait until it starts getting cooler. It’ll really feel like football season when fall takes over.
This morning, Emilee and I made a snicker apple salad and bacon wrapped little smokies for the football games today. I’ll be posting all of the recipes, restaurants, trips, and more this week!
I hope you’re all enjoying your weekend and fitting in some football!

I can’t wait to try out this apple and snickers salad! Sounds like such a good combination! You should also post the turkey burger recipe! Turkey burgers are the best kind of burger!

You should look into making your own kombucha. Not only is it cheaper that way, but it’s a really fun food project. I got into it this year, and I’m so proud of how my SCOBY grew. You can also add in other flavors, so it’s just like the store-bought, only you made it!

I’m ready for football too!! 🙂

Love to go to Ikea, but like you said, its better when the crowd is less.

Looks like you have been having fun! I totally feel ya on being busy & not posting as much. Last year I had so much going on in college that I was only able to post once a month or so. But hey, I made so many awesome memories 🙂

Hey, I have never commented here before but I have been following you for a few years now. Every once in a while I come stop and I just wanted to say how inspiring you are to me. Not for being the ‘weight loss girl’ but just for adapting your lifestyle on every step of the way and for being 100% real. I respect that you’ve keep your personal life personal and I also respect your strength! You keep me pushing along for a healthier lifestyle and help me to push away ‘dieting’!
