I am watching House of Cards for the third time in four months. Every time I watch it, I pick up things I’ve missed before. This show will never get old, and it’s sad that I have to wait until 2015 to watch the new season. While watching HOC, I thought I’d do a little recap of last night and this morning. I have to stop letting my posts get so far behind.
Yesterday was an off day. I’m sure all girls (maybe guys) can relate. A group of friends and I were all meeting uptown to celebrate a birthday. I decided to start getting ready around six and so did Emilee. Apparently, we were both having an off day. It took us about three hours to get ready. Why? Well…in our minds, nothing looked right, our hair didn’t fall in place, our makeup was crappy, we didn’t have anything to wear, we weren’t sure which shoes to put on and nothing played out like it was supposed too. I mean, I put on at least 20 different items of clothing, threw tons of clothes on the floor, and then ended up wearing the first outfit I had on three hours prior. I gave up on doing my hair and just scrunched it with some curls, and tossed on some sandals. I’ll never understand why us girls are so hard on ourselves. We felt much better after heading out and also felt pretty silly for going through the bratty “there is nothing to wear as I stare at millions of clothes” attitude.
Our brattiness probably came from being so hungry. After pre gaming a little at a friends house, we went to Mortimer’s cafe & pub for drinks and appetizers. A friend and I split bbq wings.
So after all of the trouble getting ready, our nights ended after getting food. None of us felt like anything but crawling into bed and falling asleep. It just feels so much better to be comfortable.
This morning, Emilee and I went to breakfast. We’ve been making it a Saturday tradition to get breakfast. I introduced her to my favorite breakfast place a week ago and she is now officially hooked. We love driving down and around Waxhaw because of the old abandoned homes and country scenery. It reminds us of home.
Every time we go to Stacks, there is a wait. But that is a good thing. A restaurant without a wait is usually never worth it. We sat out front of Stacks while waiting for a table and had some fresh coffee.
I ordered my usual garden omelet with egg whites, hash browns, toast, and fresh seasonal fruit. There wasn’t a piece of food left on that plate. I was starving! After we had breakfast, we headed over to the grocery store and picked up more broccoli to make broccoli salad. It’s super addictive.
Tonight, I’ll be sitting right here on my cozy couch with my pup, coffee, and continue blogging. This is the type of night I long for!

Hey! Love your blog!
I was just wondering how you are able to go out (drinking, eating wings) without gaining weight! I know that food like wings in moderation is fine, but what kinds of drinks do you order without murdering your nutrition for the day?? I always feel terrible after a night out!

I hate those days! I usually just give up and feel a lot better in doing so. I am too on sofa with doggy catching up on blogs. Have a chilled night!

My night will include the couch, netflix, and med school applications! Not too fun but definitely cozy!

You should eat the whole egg – the yolk is where the nutrition is – just eating whites is a waste of calories.

Egg whites are low fat and high in protein, I don’t think that’s a waste of calories.
