I rely on afternoon pick me ups to get me through the day. By the time two o’clock rolls around, I’m hungry, want to nap, and ready to quit all of my work. Sometimes, all a girl needs is a caffeinated drink and a damn sandwich! I had been going to the cafe up the road and spending almost $10 every day on my latte’s and lunch. I finally got smart and decided to buy all the ingredients so I could make my own. That way, I don’t waste time leaving the place, I save money, and it’s faster.
Above is a drink my friend, Sealy, got me hooked one. Remember a couple of weeks ago, I went to Cast Iron Waffles? They sell the cold espresso in bottles which was used in the drink above with almond milk and a packet of Stevia.
The wraps I usually buy at the cafe have hummus, tomato, turkey, mustard, and lettuce wrapped in a tomato basil wrap.
I can make about six wraps under $20 dollars. Start rethinking your lunches!
What is your favorite afternoon pick me up?

I like having snow peas, carrots, chips, or yogurt as my afternoon snack. I also like coffee with some soy or almond milk 🙂 That’s normally when I’m in school!

Snow peas and roasted red pepper hummus is the best!

Oh I love having almond milk in my coffee!
I usually snack on nuts (cashews are one of my favorties) and berries for an afternoon pick me up!

I’m on an apples with cheese kick, and maybe some sliced turkey. Good pre-work out fuel!

I just had a cup of lemon ginger tea and some air-popped popcorn. It was much needed, but I still could go for a nap in the sunshine just about now 😛

Taralynn! I love your blog! I’ve been following you for a while and find it so inspiring that you chose to “do you” lately! It’s so refreshing to see someone who has enough courage and gumption to go after what they truly want in life. I commend you!!
Anyway! I wanted to know if you (or anyone) knows where you bought the tomato basil tortilla wrap?
Thanks! <3

Oh, the iced coffee looks heavenly! I must try it because I probably spend much too many on Starbucks! (addict :).

I’ve always wondered what you do for work/income? You seem to have all these fun adventures.
Thanks!

I make this every morning! I make a ton of espresso on Monday morning and refrigerate it for the next few days. You can get a KRUPS espresso maker pretty cheap and make your own 🙂 It’s also super yummy with a little vanilla extract!

That wrap looks delicious! I have been making a lot of my own iced coffees recently and I am saving a fortune on Starbucks.

Lost track of you for a bit there. So happy to have found you again! You’re amazing, and will continue to be, regardless of any transition life throws your way. 🙂 <3

I agree- I definitely need a pick me up to keep me from my late night snacking. However, if you snack at night (I had some peanut butter and Cheerios an hour ago before bed) what is your strategy the next morning? Also, how do you keep yourself from those late night binges, even when you eat through out the day? I can’t go to sleep too hungry but don’t like feeling dull either. I would love to hear your suggestions!
