Well, I’m home! I’m glad to be back with Mr. Grumples, but sad to face the negative temps again. I just want a nice day, so I can run outside and walk the dog without freezing all over. It was so nice being able to workout outside last week. Only a few more months!
I wanted to blog my Saturday night in Vegas before I go to bed and I’ll blog Sundays tomorrow WITH a giveaway!
Jeremy’s dad chooses buffets because it’s easy for him to find options to eat. He had throat cancer and it’s still difficult for him. We didn’t mind it! I love the breakfast at hotel buffets. The fruit is so fresh and they have everything!
They added some kind of lemon cream to their berries and I need to try to duplicate it! It was incredible!
I could eat piles and piles of fruit for breakfast. It’s my favorite.
After breakfast, we walked a mile to the Hard Rock Casino! It was pretty cool and a must see for music lovers. My favorite part was the Beatles display case.
After we got back to our hotel, Jeremy and his family went down to the sports bet bar to watch some games. I was pretty tired and went back up to the room to relax.
Plus I was hungry and I knew they wouldn’t want to eat until late, so I went to the ABC store and picked up some hummus, trail mix, pretzels, and butter rum life savers. When I’m warn out, I need food, a good nap, and hot bath. The only problem with the casinos is the gross smoke. I run out for fresh air breaks a lot and showered twice a day. People were smoking while sitting in the hotel’s Starbucks. Maybe thats how Nevershoutnever came up with the song “coffee and cigarettes”.
I filled the bath up with hot water and my coconut oil and sea salt bubble bath. It makes your skin feel incredibly soft!
After some alone time relaxing and resting up, I met Jeremy and his parents for dinner downstairs at Planet Dailies. No one felt like leaving the hotel because the strip was crazy busy. That is why we got there on Monday. It’s hard for his parents to get around in wheel chairs with all of the people. I will point out that there are some incredibly rude people out there. I don’t know how many times people (who were capable of walking) jumped in front of Cindy (in a wheel chair) to get on the elevator. It made me sick. But I won’t get further into that…
This was my favorite meal on the trip. I have never had salmon cooked SO PERFECTLY! If I would have eaten this the first day, I probably would have eaten it for every meal the rest of the trip. It was incredible. I don’t like smoked salmon that much, or when salmon is dry and overdone. This was moist in the middle crispy on the outside and fell apart with the touch of a fork. I made Cindy try it and she HATES anything fish. She actually liked it and said she could have ordered it. Oh and I can’t forget the broccoli! It was cooked to perfection as well.
The meal came with a side salad of fresh lettuce, carrots, cucumber and tomatoes. I ordered ranch for the side dressing.
There was nothing left to share.
After dinner, we went to the “ZEN ZONE” at the Miracle Mile mall. We have seen these oxygen bars everywhere and have always wondered how they feel, so we decided to give them a try. First, we spent 20 minutes in the water massaging bed.
That felt incredible and I highly recommend it! I bet it would feel awesome after a workout. I heard it’s supposed to cure hangovers.
How attractive is this look? Seriously sexy!
After the water massage, we tried the oxygen bar. I figured it would wake me up and make me feel refreshed. It only relaxed me and made me super tired! After that, we went back up to the room and I sat on the bed for five seconds and just passed out. I woke up the next morning forgetting what happened the night before and why I was still in my clothes. We planned on going out, but didn’t make it that far. We are either getting way too old or had been in Vegas way too long.
Oh and Jeremy got suckered into buying an echo massager for us and his mom. They are pretty cool tho. It massages you with electric stimulation. I’m going to do an experiment. I’m going to let the echo massager relax my muscles in my knees and legs before my runs and see if it helps any of the pains!

I have loved following along with your Vagas trip! It looks like you had a great week away. It’s always hard to return from nice weather to cold. 🙂
Thanks for sharing all your food dishes too. I have the hardest time knowing what to eat when we’re out and settle for mostly unhealthy dishes. It’s good to take a look at the other options that are also satisfying and delicious, so thank you!
I bet Mr. Grumples was excited to see you!

Tara, those echo massagers really work! I had to use one in physical therapy for my leg when I injuried it in my marathon training. Then my dad got one and it has help him with his back. Hope it helps you with your knees!

Let us know how the electric massager works. My hubby could probably use that!
PS. I turn 36 this Friday. *Gulp!* (getting closer to 40!)

I’ll keep you updated!
36 is nothing but a number! It’s all about how you feel 🙂

I sympathize with you on the disappointment of cold temps here in the Midwest! Just last week, I came back to Chicago from a vacation to San Diego and the one run I’ve went on outside literally hurt my face. I may just boycott til the snow melts and temps reach at least 50!
