The rain has been in and out here in Michigan. I have to sneak my outdoor workouts in before the rain. I have been pretty lucky so far. There is also something about the air here that makes me sweat like a pig. I’m not much of a “sweater”, but here it’s extreme. It’s a good thing though. An important thing to remember is to always fuel yourself before and after a workout. You need to give your body energy if you expect it to burn. Here are a couple foods from my instagram that I have eaten lately.
Above is from yesterday afternoon’s workout. I had 1 small gala apple, 1 serving of pb2, 1 tbsp vegan sunspire chocolate chips, and 2 tbsps of pecan halves.
For today’s workout I did a thirty minute boot camp calorie burning workout. You can find the same video on YouTube here. You want to make sure to keep that heart rate up to burn more calories.
After the thirty minute video, the sun finally peaked through the clouds and I fit in a quick run.
I have been taking it easy on running lately because I am still trying to overcome runner’s knee. I only did a two 10 minute miles, then walked a 1/2 mile.
After my run I sliced up a bell pepper, topped it with roasted red pepper hummus and slices of pecan halves.
For lunch a couple days ago after my workout, I had a tasty salad! It consisted of: peaches, onion, romaine, broccoli, carrots, egg, cottage cheese, hummus, pecans, flaxseed, and bell pepper.
