It’s a rainy day. I’m cuddled up watching Friday Night Lights, so why not do a quick little update? The great thing about Instagram is I can capture quick moments to blog later. Sometimes I miss out on a lot because I get lazy with my camera. I gathered up some recent photos for this update post.
This morning, I made my way over to Target to pick up some coffee. I found my refill cup for my Keurig, so wanted to buy ground coffee rather than k-cups. I save so much money doing that. I grabbed caramel off the shelf, as I walked away, I saw carrot cake flavored coffee. My mouth dropped. I instantly put the caramel back and snatched the carrot cake. I was a little let down. It didn’t taste like carrot cake, but it still tasted good. It had a spicy cinnamon flavor.
Early this morning before I went on a light walk with my dog, I had a breakfast protein shake. All I added was : 1 cup frozen blueberries, 1 cup ice, 1 Tbsp Aroniaberry Puree, 1 Packet Stevia, 1 Cup Ice Water & 1 Scoop Vanilla Organic Protein Powder. So delish!
Yesterday morning I chopped up a bowl of strawberries. I bought these from a farmers market. They were ripe and juicy! Some of the best strawberries I’ve had in a long time. Nothing compares to the farmer markets in East Hampton. I drizzled a little honey over the top and sprinkled unsweetened organic coconut on top. If I had dark chocolate chips, this would have made a great dessert!
Yesterday was the last day of Team Taralynn 🙁 But, it’s not “over, over”. The girls are going to continue to post while I put together the next team. They will share their journey post Team Taralynn. I did a wrap up post this morning and you can find it here.
On Saturday, I was prepared to make a big dinner. Jeremy and I went to get his oil changed and it took longer than we expected. We decided to walk to the closest place to eat, Cici’s Pizza Buffet. Whoever said you can’t eat healthy at buffets or on a budget…is seriously wrong. I go to buffets all the time and still walk out feeling great. Cici’s was only five dollars. I had tons and tons of salad and a slice of vegetable pizza. Jeremy and I split a brownie too. I like to fill up on veggies and healthy foods, then treat myself to something “not so healthy”. If I would have started with pizza, I would have ended with more. If you want a n example of a buffet post, here is my favorite. http://undressedskeleton.tumblr.com/post/44752157256
Friday night I spent three hours in traffic. I picked up Jeremy from the airport and got stuck behind numerous accidents. I really won’t miss the traffic in Atlanta when we leave. When we got home, we geared up and went for a five mile run on an incline. It felt awesome….when it was over with:) Later that night, we went to a seafood buffet. I had tons of: steamed vegetables, crab, salmon, and fresh salad. I even tried my first sushi ever! It was a California spring roll, the “scardy-cat” choice. This made my sushi fear slowly fade. Next time, i’ll be more outgoing. After our dinner we went for a nice little walk downtown.
Thursday, I made a trip to Whole Foods. I picked up my usual list and snacked on tons of grapes on the way home. Whole Foods have the best grapes I have ever tasted! They are seriously a treat. After Whole Foods, I headed to Hobby Lobby to pick up some jars for my homemade Jam I am going to make this week! 🙂
I ended Thursday night with a little treat. I was home alone watching Friday Night Lights and needed a sweet fix. I threw together: vanilla arctic zero, dark chocolate chips and pb2. This felt completely guilty even thought it was guiltless. I couldn’t get enough. The great thing about Arctic zero is that it’s loaded in protein and fiber. It has less: sugar, carbs and calories than most ice cream. You can eat the whole pint for 150 calories!
Early Wednesday morning, I had a quick snack. I have this one all the time. It’s fast and tasty! Gala apples and pb2!
Later, I’ll post my dinner from last night! You can find it on my instagram @taralynnmcnitt
