Several of you were emailing, asking if I would share some of my favorite books. I thought “what a great idea”. I just recently finished Fed Up With Lunch. I couldn’t take my hands off of this book. I’m contemplating on reading it again. Fed Up With Lunch was so inspiring, almost thrilling at the same time.
This book is about a teacher who blogs her school lunches. She is disgusted by the quality of the food and untrustworthy chemicals. She decides to buy hot lunch every day, for the rest of the school year. She brings the lunch back to her classroom, snaps a photo and blogs it. While reading this book, it took me back to my own school days. The lunches we were served sounded way too familiar. The author makes you want to get involved and change the way kids are being fed at school. She remained anonymous throughout the school days, in fear of being fired. Finally, she revealed her blog and story to the world. I’m so glad she did. My view on hot lunch has changed greatly, I’m sure anyone who reads this book will find it inspiring as well.
